I'm from Australia and im 17, Male, I'd really like a Brace instead of surgery, my pectus is fairly bad but I need help, im so miserable and it's hard to stay positive I get fairly depressed over it, just wondering if you could help me out.
Can anyone tell me where can I get a brace in the US? I'm from Mexico but my parents usually travel, my mother is going to Miami soon, my uncles have a home in San Antonio and Mcallen (Texas), my dad usually goes to Vegas every 2 months... so, can someone tell me please where can I get one? I'm 15 and I'm sooo tired of PC
Thank you for mentioning our work. For more information one can see an interview that is now in YouTube or log to our site (just search for orthopectus). Sydney Haje, MD.
I got my brace, I'm in the first phase, with only 1/8 in padding added. I can't eat that much, or I start feeling like I'm gonna throw up, I feel sick throughout the day. I'm trying to workout with it but I can't breath so I have a couple questions. Did you feel the same way(eating and feeling sick all day), if so does it go away? Were you very consistent with wearing it 23 hours a day, did you ever skip a day or two for any reasons? How long til I only have to wear 13 hours a day? please help.
great results ! .. I have too some kind of carinatum , but it only affected my left side. It's some sort of asymmetrical pectus carinatum. Do you have any idea if the brace would work for me ? Also , how old were you when you got it , cause i'm 18 and i wonder if it's not too late ...
@SurfStefGoldCoast Hey i saw you pectus carinatum brace videos and I myself have one of those braces. The thing is though that after two years of wearing it, my chest bone has become very flexible. I can suck it in or push it out. Is it the same case with you? Do you know how to fix this problem?
sorry if I'm flooding you with questions but I'm really curious about it, you know? I'm nervous about paying $2000+, especially because my parents aren't helping me and I'm only 17.
hey man, nice to see an update, so I have a couple of questions if you don't mind...
A while back I asked you how much it cost and you said around $2000, is that with insurance? Because I have minor PC and no breathing problems, but I have problems doing certain workouts because it feels as if my chest is ripping apart. Do you know if insurance will cover this?
also, although I see major improvement it's hard to tell if your chest is normal now, is it still noticeable?
@maxdragonn Hey, I dont think insurance will cover it, you can try though. Yeah its pretty much normal now, still a tiny bit mild but pretty much unnoticable. Good luck :)
@pigy136 Thanks dude :) Yeah I wear it about 23 hours a day now.. I went for about 4-5 months only wearing it at night because the brace needed modifying for my stage of the treatment cuz it was actually pushing my chest in, but now I got the new brace I wear it constantly again... hopefully I am nearly done!

@DuckMyFog You would have to get it straight away, you might be ok if your chest is still flexible?
