@venus1an when you have a short takeoff, it helps get to lift off speed before the runway goes away. unfortunately, they don't make these boosters anymore, and unless the New York air guard has a stockpile of them, you wont see this happen anymore. Fat Albert doesn't do the jato takeoff anymore cause there are no more rockets.
@tokagekobushi Good point. Could be just standard operating procedures. As an ex airforce man myself I know that not all military operating procedures make sense. Anyone out there who can enlighten us?
Lol, i'd love to see an H model like that get more than 40K feet. My guess would have to be something to do with the cold. But thats just my opinion. Because the cabin pressure is regulated, and unless and outflow valve is stuck open (or something similar) or theres a hole in the plane, even at altitude you dont need masks.
Thin Air in Antarctica/Greenland (Wherever the 109th Airlift Wing goes, Yes I believe this is the 109th Stationed in Scotia, NY), High Altitude, there's a lot of factors that can go into that
That was an awesome video, although a pathetic JATO take-off lol.

When taking off or landing the cabin is unpressurized and at a field that is at or above 10, 000 ft . You've got to be on oxygen.

Courious to see the wheell go up on the skid,, are they stuck there ?, the rocket is extra thrust, and what the mask for,?
Bernar2able 2 months ago

I'd love to take a ride in a C-130, but this is about as close as I will ever get. Thanks!

@fsnvret You're not missing much. Not like it's a ride in an F-15 you're missing out on.
