  • I want fu*cking name or download link of second song in this video! QUICK!! :D

  • @WaPoUw lol, click show more in the description! :)

  • @vash513 Dude ty! It's soo good to listen this song when ur high! :D

  • WHERE ARE HER EARS?!?!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • а уши где?

  • This video screams THERE IS AN EASIER WAY!

  • Woow It looks GREAT! :-)

  • with normal speed *8 hours

  • How long did this actually take?

  • This process is pretty time consuming and , only professionals can try, not recommended for newbies and for production. Experiment it and learn it , no issues with that.

  • @TheWilliamMaster. Chuck Norris can't make an accurate 3d model of himself. He is just to perfect

  • Da das Video 8 Minuten lang ist, und in mindestens 5 facher Geschwindigkeit abgespielt wurde, gehe ich davon aus, dass es eher 40 Minuten gedauert hat, bis der 3D Kopf fertig war, als 8!

  • chuck norris can make a 3d head in 0.000000000001 seconds

  • could you post a video about where to draw those lines (edges), because i have no idea what the edge flow should be like. if you have a link for a tutorial about that, please replyn thanks.

  • this method looks nice, u draw the edges on paint or whatever before you apply the viewport background so you go faster, I like this!

  • Nice song with video! Initially I was watching the video alone then I recognised the song from the chorus because of DJMax XD.

  • @Ellelawliet89 haha, i just started playing DJ MAX lately too. man, SCREW the difficulty of this game, lmao. it's still so damn addicting though.

  • @vash513 totally <3

  • so this is how you do it!

I wonder how I can do that in cheetah 3D, but I'll probably figure it out sooner or later!

    Thank you so much C:

    (I'm this user's friend btw)

  • @SamHughes998 It's 3DS Max

  • Just how long did this take?

  • really great, but as i still have a problem with the ears...

  • love the 3D ;D

  • I remember in the dark ages at university and the tutors were useless at teaching how to model characters. In my panic looking for tutorials, I came across this video and spoke to "vash513" for help. This way of modeling gives a great understanding of controlling your polys in max's viewports organic or not. I don't model this way now, but its highly rewarding for beginners.

Thanks to vash and not my university, I have been working in the games industry for nearly a year now.

  • @RSPhilW whhaaatttt? for real? thanks buddy! i don't model this way anymore either, lol.

  • ive been on sketchup pro for years and finding it very difficult to get into maya or 3Ds max.. doesnt seem to flow as easily, even the controls for rotating the view are cumbersome.. any advice to help me get into it more?? sketchup is great but very limited..

  • @muzikmasteruk you just have to keep working with it, to be honest. rotating the view is very fluid for me in both applications since i'm used to it. i felt the same way moving from max to maya. i hated maya's navigation controls at first, now they're second nature. but if it's really bothering you, consider investing in a 3dconnexion 3d mouse.

  • what software did you use for this its brilliant!

  • Did you teach yourself modeling or did you go to college for it? O.o pretty good. I wish I was this good.

  • Are we watching a tut or listening to some stupid song ... ugh

  • @Okky22 Who said it was a tutorial?

  • it's very cool. i'm just now learning the program, but i hope later i willbe as skillful as you : D

  • hahaahhahaahhahaahhahaah

  • @zoloo97 .....you ok?

  • wow! plss visit this channel:vienna3dillusion! thx!

  • wow.......awsomeness

  • When connecting the backside did you just weld it?

  • @Geoxile not at the seams, since the half of the head is mirrored. i just made sure all of the vertices at the seam were planar.

  • how did the vertex and the lines multiply at 2:56 - 2:59. im still a newbie :3

  • @irvintiu am a newbie too but i think it's when he enabled the surbdivision

  • oh how i love timelapses

  • teachme man how i can to do thiissss!!

  • 8 minutes in fast hahahaha

  • Why make it in 8 minutes?, with 1 minute would have been more than enough.

  • unreal engine is the best

  • Thats amazing :D What program is this?

  • @Beth9462 Autodesk 3ds Max Design

  • wow this is crazy awesome! love the vid!

  • you forgert the ears

  • wow how many active point were in the model?

  • question:

how do you connect one half of the face to a mirrored version or is there a better way?

  • Comment removed

  • 3ds max me come las bolas.

  • Autor eat Extasy?

  • hey what kind of program is this

  • it actually looked like you were stiching the head together

  • Imagine if this WAS done in 8 mins! Imagine if this was real time!

  • i'll never can do this:(

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Girl is very beautiful, where can I get more photos?

  • dude you just made it and then you speeded up the footage, nice vid though :)

  • @AssassinEzio055 ....another person who did not read the description :/

  • How much time did u spend on this O.o?

  • this video is so old, honestly i don't remember.

  • @InzaneMovies

    8 minutes.

    ASASASAFAFAFA

  • Wow, that looked intensely difficult, and what was the time frame for doing all that? Also, what would be the time frame for an absolute beginner to do that? Thanks, and keep up the good work!

  • @djsparkyful i wouldn't even recommend an "absolute beginner" to attempt to model a head. a beginner should really focus on making very basic objects and getting the feel for the program and 3d modeling in general.

  • @vash513

your completly right. I m learning modeling since 2 years. modeling bodys. heads. ears . hands. cars. props. just so much to get better at my stuff. and also looking at others to learn techniques or make up an own.

  • @vash513 your completly right. I m learning modeling since 2 years. modeling bodys. heads. ears . hands. cars. props. just so much to get better at my stuff. and also looking at others to learn techniques or make up an own. Your technique of modeling is also intresting. drawing on the reference is always a good idea

  • i have learned, i think i can achive something like this in blender! :)

  • @UzumakiRasengan11 christ almighty, i thought this shit ended....

  • you must be using a wacom or something

  • @ochiorbus no, not here. using a wacom tablet for "technical" modeling like this is more cumbersome than intuitive. tablets are best used for programs like zbrush and mudbox.

  • @vash513 so. after you've done all of that can you put the reference image onto the model. that would be something. shame to waste it after all and spend six months trying to copy it.

  • @LUKADATAS 6 months? meh? i don't see what you're getting at...

a reference is just that, a reference. using a picture doesn't mean you want to explicitly copy the image 1 for 1. while that could be the case, many use references as guides, to get proportions a some features down. once the base is laid out, i delete the image and tweak it to make it unique. you don't have to use the image for materials either, you can use your own custom made shaders.

    again..... 6 months?

  • @vash513 6 months equals a general reference to the hard slog you have to go through to get a human like skin texture or painted one onto your character. i wasn't implying that you, specifically, are slow.

if that was a concern of yours.

also i do understand what a reference image is.

but i was asking whether it would be possible for it to be more if i want it to be.

and i've found a means to achieve this - i think. - although it's probably going to be expensive.

  • @LUKADATAS well, there are many different ways to approach skin textures. once you done it many times, it should not take much time at all. a skilled modeler can create a complete textured character in a day or 2.

  • More fast ! Poser pro !!! lol

  • SPIDER MAN

  • what did you use to add those individual polys?

  • what did you use to add those individual polys?

  • looks like paper mache

  • How to get that picture in 3Ds max?

  • @lendemen95 watch my video on setting up your reference images.

  • Eric Malowski style. do you know him?

  • @greatveemon no, not personally. but i did get this modeling method from his tutorials. i don't use this method anymore, though.

  • OMFG

  • hey dude

i'm a student in 3d and when u started your models i think u got the worst metode but ur good with it so it make a pretty nice result and yea u didn't make it in 8 minutes it's imposible even the video is in high speed but good work dude

  • @gabfire yeah, i don't use this method anymore, i get better results with the edge extrusion method

  • @vash513 yeah I also prefer edge extrusion

  • where do u get the models from?

  • @floydwain u can get models to the site 3d.sk

  • how long did it take you.... i know it's more than 8 minute, you made me not wanting to work with 3ds max anymore.....

  • @henryusyay lol keep working with it. i really don't remember how long it took me, but i think it was around an hour and a half or so.

  • Hey is there a hot key for moving the camera around? I'm sick of having to go to the hand to pan around and using that stupid circle with the cube to rotate.

  • @Ethaninja hold alt+middle mouse button and drag the mouse.

  • So what is it you're doing at the start when you run your mouse over the lines on the face and make boxes and such. I think I see a menu pop up from right click or something?

  • @Ethaninja i was tracing the predrawn lines with splines, then converting them to polygons.

  • Not really 8 mins but then again I am only kidding :P

    Cool thing man ;)

  • Autodesk maya eats me alive..

  • you make that look so easy!!! not fair >:(

  • /jealous :/

  • Ears?

  • @AmazzTasticFillms BAH! ears are for humans! :p

  • amazing........ wish i wanna be as good as yer. :DDD

  • Nice

  • amazing work <3

  • What program are you using to model this 3D head?

  • Whoops, sorry, now i see description xD

  • I found one "From The Roof Top~Somewhere in the Silence (Sniper's Theme) - SSS OST " but what's name of first song?

  • Name of two songs? I can't find

  • @Learnmaya1 who marked this as spam? it's not spam

  • wow that's allot of work, easier in zbrush

  • @SilverGunZoO i suck at zbrush, but luckly, i'll be learning zbrush 4 in class soon.

  • @vash513 zbrush is more like real life, too bad we still have to do the retopology, export the maps and some other technical stuff manually, still, better than pulling on vertexes lol

    good luck

  • LOL Clazziquai

  • What real time of creation?

  • i give full respect to vash513 for posting this video, it was one of the most helpful videos i ever viewed.

  • would be nice, if you could make a fast tutorial, in wich you explain what tools you used, and how ...

    PS: great job ;)

  • you are very talented.

  • interesting method

  • looks like an alien

  • @goingcrazy74 ugh, i know right? :p

  • what's the name of this software?

  • You gots to show the making of the multirez for the normal map bake and you need to show the shape key posing.

  • what program did you use for this? I want to be a game designer but I need a program that gives me 3-D character creating experience like this one

  • @DragonFang17 3ds max

  • Unbelievable. There's so much good work here that I was exhausted by just watching the 8 minute time lapse!

  • @RollDdice it's like getting all sweating after watching an episode of cops! lol

  • How are you switching between angled and smooth view of the polys?

  • @FIFADen1190 turbosmooth

  • @FIFADen1190 after applying the turbosmooth modifier, you can just turn it on or off when needed

  • Okay Brilliant But Damn U need To Have Some Good Observational Skiillzz :P

Umm .. Do You Have A Slower Version Of This Video? :P

  • are modeling ears the hardest thing to do when creating a person?

  • @YourNameHere0000 in general it tends to be the most challenging. there's so much topology there and it takes some careful thinking to get the loops to flow properly, that on top of stitching the vertices of the ear to the rest of the head. this is one of the few times where i use 3 sided polys without regret, lol. often people who have trouble modeling ears (or just hate to do so) model one good one and reuse it on multiple models.

  • @vash513 I've been seeing a bit of modeling videos to learn, and I came across this one again. I was wondering how did you learn how to model. Do you have any books or sites that you could recommend???

  • Very good hard work. I am sure that takes a lot a lot of hours. I thought 3D modelling would be just a atter of knitting dots upon the picture, but no, it is far more complicated, one is supposed to actually sculpture the object on the fly and that takes qualities of an artists. Either you have them or you dont. I would never be able to learn to do that as I draw as a retarded. Cannot modele a sphere myself

  • @youcantbeatfacts dude, just practice, practice, practice. although having traditional drawing skills do help, it's not required. there are many 3d artists who can create awesome 3D projects but suck at drawing.

  • i thought you will fail by modeling the lips but WOW nice job !

  • @KREUZBERGDOST haha, i DID fail. they're horrible!

  • It looks like piderwomen in the beginning!

  • why are people pissing and moaning about it being time lapse? do you people REALLY believe it's possible to model a head in 8 minutes real time? GEEZ!

  • @kirkula i'm not worried about it, i'm just gonna delete those comments from now on

  • And now the body. Omg

  • @moviemaker310 i know, right?

  • @moviemaker310 dont forget the ears.

  • what are the names of the two songs in this vid?

  • @n1blackman4u it's in the description

  • Tutorial? :p

  • @Urhed once i get off my lazy ass. it won't be using this modeling method though, i don't use it anymore.

  • Страхотно е,браво!

  • um... i just wonder the title of the song haha =)

  • @killtank3 ya, it's come to me by clazziquai :)

  • @honarnaziranianast and you're simple. you really think i'm looking to stack hits for this vid? ok, buddy. whatever you say. and i'm guessing you meant to read the DESCRIPTION you must open the video. well of course. while you're at it, go rant at the millions of other videos that don't post their descriptions in the title. THAT'S WHAT DESCRIPTIONS ARE FOR!!!! jeez, you folks...

  • 무슨 노래임..?

  • @killtank3 the music? clazziquai?

  • @killtank3 my korean is bad, but i think you were asking about the music?

  • is there a software that draw those lines ?

  • @Budhabe i used photoshop to draw the lines before importing the image into max

  • @vash513 hey tnx for replying awsome work

  • @cutiesam90 WHY WOULD I DO THAT IF IT'S IN THE DESCRIPTION?! Don't be a lazyass cutiesam90, don't be one of those. Hopefully you're an adult and don't need someone to instruct your ass on how to read a description for a video so you know what the fuck is going on in said video. You and everyone else who have drifted to the same comment are like lemmings to a cliff. This will be the last time I say this: READ. THE. FUCKING. DESCRIPTION.

    /rant

  • @vash513 You are really a jerk. To read the title person must click on the video to open it. Once it is opened than it is nothing special other than a lot of other posted polygon edits. You know that the title is just BS to get people to view it.

  • @vash513 Hey mister, suck in your ahole and stop being such a piss off. Geez, i'm just noting down. i know it's in the description, but what i thought is maybe you could have put that description at the TITLE of your video, not at the description. If there are so many people commenting on the same thing, which annoys you, doesn't that say something about YOUR video instead? wake up and smell the roses sweetcheeks. Can't expect everyone to read the description BEFORE viewing the video!

  • @cutiesam90 And another point you should note, YOUR TITLE stated 3D Head in 8 minutes. Which can be very misleading. Viewers had to CLICK on the title, ENTER the video AND THEN READ the description only to find it's not what they are looking for. How bout re posting this with a less misleading title instead of harassing anyone who tells you it's misleading.

  • @cutiesam90 sweet, you did cry more. blocked.

  • @cutiesam90 now you are just being a d!ck really >.>

great video! you have an interesting modelling techique here^^ and the end result was great!

  • @cutiesam90 cry more. all i gotta say.

  • How fast is the playback compared to real-time?

  • @CamelCarcass honestly, i can't remember. this video is so old

  • the title is misleading. Should have said 3D head video sped up to fit in 8 min. This vid is nothing more than a proof that you made the head. Should have called it 'my 3d head'.

  • @mireazma holy shit... another one. ya know, i often make a point to read descriptions in youtube videos. taking up the practice may benefit those who keep reposting this same comment.

  • @mireazma I think you pwned yourself by saying that.

  • I hate the music so much

  • @usedtobeemo ........ok. random.

  • spiderman! XD
