  • boy i had the hots for you Betty Lynn, and you still look great Betty

  • Betty turned 85 in 2011.

  • I live in Mt. Airy and love every minute of it!!

  • Still a little Hot Thelma Lou,little hottie who was a firecracker in the sack I bet!Probably still is!

  • I hope Betty Lynn reads this...

My Dad, Clarke Lathrop, ran Bel Air Realty in Los Angeles in the 1970s. Later, Clarke Lathrop Realtors. Anyway, Betty's Mom, Elizebeth Lynn, was one of the Realtors working with him. Such a nice Lady!! I met Betty at a Motion Picture Mom's function---VERY nice as well!! Hello Betty! Clarke is still doing great!

  • The irony of the show is humorous. The show as all about patriotic America, family values, and love of God. But Andy Griffith is a leftist if there ever was one. The guy even did PR pieces for then candidate Obama when Obama was running for President. Ron Howard is also a leftist.

  • Iwent there last year, what a blast. I will post some pics

  • NOBAMA !!!!!

  • my favorite was helen crumb!!!

  • @youngmindedman Thats Helen CRUMP!! Not Crumb..lol

  • @njmhk sorry, got my "p" upside down.

  • Yeah now she looks like Grandmama off the "Addams Family".

  • Too bad they don't get Andy Griffith to appear at their mayberry days.

  • She's always a babe.

  • Good Ole Thel

  • Love ya Thel !!!!!!!!

  • Betty Lynn looks more like Otis now than Thelma Lou.

  • awwwwww soo cute

  • Nice to see Thelma Lou again ...

  • She is as cute as ever.

  • Thelma Lou!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i agree with one of the commentors. barney had what was coming to him for never marrying sweet thelma lou. she came back with a husband. hooray for the thelma lous in this sad world!

  • I just adore her.She was my favorite on the show next to Andy and Barney.

  • I always loved her. Barney was such a putz for not marrying Thelma Lou. She's beautiful on the inside, as well as the outside. Wish I could have found a Thelma Lou! Thank you Betty. Your very special!

  • @usurboutthat Barney got paid back for dumping Thel when she showed up at the Mayberry H.S. class reunion...........with her new husband!

  • Been through Mt Airy a few times back in the early 70's. Nice little town. Been in Los Olivos Ca many times too. A very beautiful area. The Andy Griffith show will live on forever. Hard to believe Opie Taylor is a year older then me !

  • I just want to give her a big hug and kiss and tell Thank You.

  • Wonderful video

  • @homerboy488 it sure is! time is cruel as hell just awful

  • @homerboy488 yep

  • I think Barney got the cutest girl on the show! :)

  • @kmax1940 I totally agree.She seems so sweet too.

  • @kmax1940 Andy's girl was cuter with Ellie Walker, but helen was kinda drab

  • she was and still cute , i just love her i wish in my life time i get to meet her in person.

  • Love Thelma Lou. She has recently moved to Mount Airy!

  • This is incredibly awesome; and what is even more awesome is the fact that long after all of the actors grow into old age, and even pass away, they will remain immortalized by the work as the eternally young and idealistic characters whom we we all came to adore. The Andy Griffith Show and all of the characters is and are a wonderful monument to humanity and future generations.

  • Don Knots wrote himself into the show. It was the best thing that could have happened.

  • Thelma Lou, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all the crap put together on tv now will never compare with the andy griffith show series.

  • No worries, between TV Land and syndicated timeslots, the show is on at least 10 hours a day anywhere in the world :P

  • Isn't thaT THE TRUTH!

  • Very nice. She's still quite lucid and looks good!

  • I was 8 years old when I first saw Betty...still hot after all these years!

  • The wonderful Betty Lynn was so wonderful as "Thelma Lou". Pretty, smart & funny. Nice to see that she's still that way! Her career in the movies goes back to the 40's (including "June Bride" and "Sitting Pretty'). Betty Lynn rocks!

  • Wow!! I enjoyed that so much. I'm glad I came across this interivew.

  • I went to a TAGS convention in 1995. It was big! Betty Lynn was dear and sweet and funny. (Like Frances Bavier, she moved to NC long after the show was over and now lives in Mt. Airy.) Betty made a phone call from onstage that night to Aneta Corsaut (Helen), back in CA. They seemed very close, like schoolgirls. Aneta even gave Betty a recipe over the phone! I didn't know Aneta was dying of cancer. She was gone only 2 weeks later.

  • yeah, she lives at :100 Ridgecrest Retirement Community,mt.ary,n.carolina,27030,my mom cooked there, the mt.airy arts council, keeps her busy.but mom said she loves getting cards from fans,(that's why i put address),may God bless you & yours,..im bout 10 mil. from Andy's old home place,it's a Bed & Breakfast now.

  • Being an Andy Griffith Show fan, what a treat it is to hear Betty Lynn discuss the show. What a great actress! Thanks so much for the post.

  • Opey The Bird Man,also one of my favorites.also like the Mr Mcbeevie episode.

  • I love you Thelma Lou!

    Always have (don't tell Barnie),

    And always will!

  • (Barney)

  • Ms. Lynn is as beautiful, inside and out, as she was over forty years ago. Thank you, Betty.

  • She looks great and sounds sharp. When was this interview?

  • I always thought she was so pretty. That she just had this wonderful face & beautiful eye's,and I can see she still does!

    Mary-

  • Thank you for posting this. I think that for me, the part where Betty Lynn talked about people's'eyes welling up with tears...not only was it because they were meeting her-- it was also the fact that the show had a moral message, and was so innocent, and clean, and people were gentle and caring back then, and I think people long for those days again. I know I do.

  • Oh, I am fully ENAMOURED with Betty Lynn!!!!!

  • Bless your heart Betty Lynn. Thanks for the memories. You were wonderful as Thelma Lou!
