Hey, i went and did some research on the matter, and in some translations of the Bible, it does just say Goliath. But in the King James, New King James, American King James, Webster's Bible Translation, World English Bible, Young's Literal Translation, and Geneva Study Bible, it is translated that it was Goliath's brother that Elhanan killed.

Anyway, your precious KJV puts "the brother of" in italics,

which means it was NOT in the Hebrew,

Look closer. In 2 Samuel ch.21 verse 19, it says "Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed THE BROTHER of Goliath the Gittite." Please read the Bible a little more closely next time, instead of trying to find contradictions. Have a nice day.

I see two contradictory accounts.

In 1 Samuel 17 David kills Goliath,

In 2 Samuel 21 Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim kills Goliath,

"who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod."
