  • Yes, Maestro Paul O'Dette is out of this world - but keep in mind that musicians of his stellar calibre practise ten to twelve hours a day when touring...

  • quick I add it to my favorits!!

  • Wonderful piece

  • 3 people have a serius inferiority problem

  • OMG. This is a great tune. Thank you for upload

  • what a beautiful, beautiful version!!

  • Bravo.

  • jesus f. christ. The sad thing is it's impossible for me financially to buy a lute right now, yet I watched this video and I want want 10 times more than I did. He gets a tone with the theorbo somewhere between a classical guitar and a harp, just amazing. It's weird, it doesn't even sound like a lute, it's just incredible.

  • Enthusiasm is just as important as the financial part. One day you will have the money. You're half way there already!

  • Like just how much are we talking here. Can you get a cheap one to start off with like most folk do when they start learning guitar.

  • I wish you luck in finding one. I have built one (well, a baroque lute)as an amateur and the process is not as difficult as it looks - it's just time and care. Robert Lundberg's excellent book "Historical Lute Construction," which might be available through your library system, does a great job of showing how. It can be done with hand tools and patience, and it's completely worth trying.

I hope that one way or another you find an instrument

  • @hackerguitar this is utterly fantastic comment, thank you very much. That is extremely helpful and I will go about finding the book right away!!

  • @thejugglenaut91 I'm glad to help. I made the lute with a chisel, a scraper, a saw, a small plane (block plane), a spokeshave, and a few other tools. It's mostly about being patient - the ribs take time to fit! But if you take your time and try to do good joinery, the work is worth it.

  • @thejugglenaut91 I feel you so much im so broke I want more rare instruments. I really want a Portuguese lute or guitar look them up on you tube just amazing.

  • Sure... divine.

  • He made that Toccata Arpegiatta his bitch.

  • haha, that's a way of putting it ;-)

  • se parece al ratoncito del club de la comedia

  • This beautiful beyond words. This composer will never be forgotten.

  • I agree! It's almost hypnotic. Julian Bream and Paul O'Dette have mastered the lute and its family of instruments better than anyone alive today.

  • Simply Divine. Inspirational and Universal. Bravo Maestro O'Dette! Bravo Kapsberger!

  • Simply divine.

  • Divino Kapsberger, armonia dell'universo, di una mdernita' disarmante, bravissimo maestro O'Dette!!

  • I have this cd. Its a good one.

  • Thank you for posting this!
