Goog job cause it is not really easy to film the street life and people in senegal without than someone is coming to ask money just cause he's on the photo.. ( i'm french excuse me for my english) i love senegal but life is really difficult over there and sometime people are really tiring cause when they see a white guy they want money ...
@yolovema And why is that so for u? sorry buddy, but nah bada blame it on us. si tu vx tu aides ces gens, sinon, tu la boucles. tu n sais rien de la situation du senegal.
Wow, I love the music, love the innocent kids, love the warm and inviting atmosphere formed by the people. I really want to visit Senegal but I don't speak french, what a pity. Thanks for the video!
Lucinante........First of all, I am neither American nor Senegalese but......I love Senegal and the Senegalese people because of all the countries I've visited, I found the culture, music, friendliness and food irresistable. True, Dakar has bad bits like any city, but your remarks are disgusting, irrelevant and downright racist! - Just go away you Hungarian peasant!
i wont argue with you anymore. Dakar's an environmental catastrophe, characterless, filthy, rubbish strewn, inhospitable city. But youre right, if someone goes there , one should not expect anything better than this, so im not complaining anymore, sorry for everything, goodbye.
Lucinante.........You really are the most ignorant man - SenegaL is a VERY poor country indeed, but the people are amazing, hospitable, warm and inviting. Perhaps you deserve to have a bad experience because of your dirty mind. I'm happy that you never go there again, and I hope your next holiday is disasterous too!!!! It will teach you a lesson!!!
Because Ive been there, and its a disgusting dirty place, where everybodys trying to rob you or to dump something on you and they believe truly that you must be fuckin rich just because your skin is white... Anyway the whole city looks terrible.
Lucinante....You wont remember me but we met in Dakar and I found you to be a mentally unstable man with very little money and a very smelly body. When we chased you, we were not trying to rob you - we were trying to get rid of you out of our lovely city so that visitors would not be embaressed by your extremely ugly face - you are a stupid toubab!!!!
1. its easy to be proud of Dakar in the United States.
2. I didnt say anything bad about Senegal in general, for example I enjoyed Saint Louis, it was really nice, but about Dakar theres really nothing good to mention.
BertTromp: Are you from Senegal? You have interesting videos in "Favorites"...I really want to go to Senegal.. snif, maybe some day... Greetings from Mexico.
I find it amazing just how the people in the US are so spoiled. Having been to Senegal,Zambia, and South Africa, its a lot different being there. Nice Vids!
Ohw this is really a good view of the daily life in Dakar!!! I've been there in januari 2007 too and i loved it... I'm going to do a volunteerjob in september for 6 months!!! I can't wait to go esppecially when i see this video! Really really good video!!!!
Thanks much, Bert, for the info....I DID see the other vid. I liked it very much. I am with a group that works to raise money for mosquito nets for the Wolof villages (Kafferine area) Fred
Orchestra Baobab is the greatest band in the world and this is a brilliant look into the everyday life of the Senegalese people. "Coumba," is such a perfect background to this insightful footage. The album which the song is from, "Pirates Choice," is probably the greatest album of all time and is considered by many to be the holy grail of West African music.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
