  • I know this comes late but the cat pee Is probably what gave you garden some trouble. If you can and are able to try and put up a small signs around your garden love the open part that is so the cat does not get in there

  • Eat the cat.

  • ★★★★★

  • Hi i was wondering how many of each types of seeds you used for results like this ive never done any gardening before but i just bought a pack of 55,000 survival seeds and would like to know what to expect i live in northern minnesota so i will have similar weather. hope things turn around for u in august

  • I lost my spinach yesterday : (... Heat wave, I was really looking forward to it... oh well couldn't be helped. Check out my channel for a favorited video on testing PH the old fashion way.... You will enjoy it : )

  • Take out all moldy plants. If ther eis mold on some of the strawberries, remove the whole plant, and the dirt around it.The mold will spread if you don't.

  • looking good

  • If you could drape clear plastic over your container plants (dont let the plastic touch the plant) to shed from too much rain it might help. If you can do it to where the plastic will not hold to much heat, you might could leave it in place even when it is not raining.

I have a green house which is made of aluminum framing which plastic panels are attached to. During the summer months, I leave the plastic panels on the roof but remove those on the sides. My plants always do well.

  • Check your drainage for the berries. Scrape off mold, add some dirt to soak up some water and fertilize them. Fertilize pots weekly. It washes right out. Won't hurt to try. For the rest, yellowing and all that, fertilize to help utilize the water. You can't stop the rain. What's with tomato leaves color out there? Is it me? They look real dark. Are they or is it the lighting? Brocc/cabbage take a long time. Spinach bolted, too hot. If you have seeds, I think you have time to replant.

  • Creme on your hands will cause seeds to not germinate, and touching plants ditto. It does take a few years to get a garden going, to learn what works well for you & what does not. Yellowed leaves often indicate a problem with water (too much) and improper nutrition. I'm just doing pepper varieties this year because they seem very hardy and I only have window boxes. Good to see you! Uprated. YT is no longer letting me share vids.

  • transplant shock yellow leaf and water run off needs to be better u see pools in soil try getting better water pail or mist the water on the garden works great check out aaron's pumpkin or aaron's garden youtube atlantic giant pumpkin.

  • It takes a few years

  • Have you checked your soil pH? If the pH is off, it can lockup the soil nutrients. Its amazing sometimes what a little dolomite lime will do if you have acidic soil. That spindly looking row of spinach is done producing for you - once its bolted to seed it won't really give you more leaves to eat. Get a 'bolt resistant' variety - check with Johnny's Selected Seeds as they sell good varieties for northern climates.

  • This fall..try a layer of this mix..Composted manure, peat moss and black earth..Lay it over the whole garden..often where patios have been laid there are chemicals in the base soil underneath to retard weed growth..so this could be an issue..but next year should be better..Try building a small raised bed and transplanting your strawberries in there..they may not recover much from this year..but next year they should do better..is there drainage holes in your pots?

  • Peas and beans make there own nitrogen, they'll be ok ex the peas they like cool weather. All of the yellow is from probably lack of nitrogen due to leaching from all the rain along with roots rotting from the water, slow growth small size same thing, too much water not enough sun. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I hat a similar exp last year with too much water.

Good to year from you again CP.

  • loos like you need nitrogen... nitrogen makes leaves green. Did you add anything to the soil when you got it? It takes time to grow your soil, don't despair.... add as much organic matter as you can. I'm no expert just in year 4 of trying ;}

  • Cat Chow Mein,LOL

  • I use a 5gal pickle bucket with holes drilled in and I use the lid to contol the water, works great.Mabey next year.

  • Cp, Here in La. the outdoor plants are dying to. My indoor garden is slow but doing well. More looks than life substaining thought. Peace and good luck.

  • great to see you again. The garden area looks nice. No ideas except maybe the proximity to edge of porch/fence, deeper/shallower soil and/or permeability etc is a contributing cause to the probs. Wonder if you stretched plastic sheeting across garden, attached to fence on three sides, might help mitigate the water bath amd still give you access?

  • we are in heat wave... no rain in sight

everything is crispy and my garden is sufering:(

those potted plants need to be able to drain. I do not keep the bottoms on mine

may be lack of nitrogen, but hang in there... i am experienced gardener, and my gaden is not doing so great this year :((

lets your seeds dry then save :)

  • I am so jealous of those good strawberries. Mine are tiny. Is it a question of drainage for the mold problem? Still looking good. Peace

  • try the raised bed/ square foot garden with a mix of 1/3 compost 1/3 vermiculite and 1/3 peat moss..

check out my channel to see what I have going with the raised beds.

  • then carefully replace the plants.

  • did you put any sort of gravel or drainage media in the bottom of the containers?

if nothing else, if you don't really have the room in the house, I would get some peat moss / vermiculite and a bag of gravel, CAREFULLY dig up the plants, dump the dirt into a container and thoroughly mix in your peat moss to lighten the soil and provide some drainage.

put the gravel in the bottom of the containers, add back the peat moss / vermiculite enriched dirt back in the container.
