  • "this is the only railway in the country that runs EMU's under their own power"

The above claim is incorrect as the Eden Valley Railway has two MLV's and a 4CEP in multi that run on electric only!

  • @DanielW118 i thought that the MLV's at the EVR ran using a diesel generator that provided power for the electric motors, the EPBPG's MLV uses battery, apologies for the incorrect claim

  • @supercruiser24 Na the generator spins up the MG sets to charge the batteries when not motoring and provide heat and light for the train which is the CEP!

  • I remember this line well! When I started on BR in 1974 as a secondman we had two shifts that Faversham worked there. The early turn was pass on the paper train.... does not look the same as it did at 6 in the morning trundelling down on a class 08/09 with a dozen 16 ton coal wagons, freezing cold, at the reckless speed of 20 mph going to the pit and the return journey with the loaded wagons at 4 mph back to Shepherds Well to make the trains up for later in the day.

  • Great stuff, good to hear the old EE507s whirring along!

  • Great film so very very good to see the mlv on the juice.

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Excellent stuff Josh
