May I compliment Filmakr1 on a new art form you've created. Kirk's show was a big part of my childhood as someone else who was born around 1965 might agree.
@luigi19987 First of all ass hole, don't call me dumb. I know who this video was a tribute to. 2nd off all ass hole, I never said Kirk sucks Tellarite cock did I, so who's the dummy now? Lastly, ass hole, you ( just like Abrams Orci and Kurtzman) obviously didn't do your research or you would see I have a tribute to Kirk on my on channel. So fuck off.
@McMahonHater sorry about this my little nephew was on here today it was not my fault so dont get mad i have been a fan since 1965-66 i like star trek i dont have any beef with abrams i happen to like that film as much as i liked the other films and tv shows again i apologise for the comments posted by my nephew
@luigi19987 Ok, don't worry. I have had a bad week dealing with pricks on youtube. I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. Personaly I was not a fan of the new movie, but to each there own. I do hope you will check out my Star Trek video though, it is pretty good. If I may, I would recomend setting your nephew up with his own YouTube Channel. Just a thought.
There is no competition between Captain Kirk or Captain Picard. Both are great Captains. For me, Kirk was the best. Because he's the kind of hero that all boys wished to be like. Boys from 1960's or 1970's. Kirk was a womanizer but he never hurt anyone. He was Starship Captain with a great responsibility on his shoulders. He did love but couldn't find that one woman to settle down with. He loved The Enterprise and would give his life to save the ship or someone who needed his help!
as a fan over all i like both versions of kirk i think we should let chris pine develope this new version of kirk further and as for shatner brilliant
This captures Captain Kirk beautifully; it reminds me of everything I love about him, and takes me back to the first moment I fell in love with him. Thank you for posting.
Brilliant - thank you for all the hard work making this. You capture Kirk very well and this shows why Kirk will always be the best captain in Starfleet
Originally Gene Roddenberry asked Jack Lord , from Hawaii five o (Mcgarrett) to be Captain Kirk but he turned it down, then he asked Jeffrey Hunter to do it , he turned it down; only then did he ask William Shatner, of course he accepted.
The series musical score, orchestra with performance recordings like no other. Kirk's voice performances of his, coupled at times with brilliant scripts, will always live in a special place in our youthful memories starting at the time we watched these, eh? I think they are best watched as an early teen, but I could still watch them today and it would take me back 30 years.
Beavis and Butthead Rules!!!!!!!!!! Sad but true, The "Next" generation of kids today don't even know who Gene Rodenberry was, It's a damn shame. JJ Abrams is also one of these spoiled shit brats. I hate it when rich people try to change history, with new movies when they have no clue of simple things like we just watched in this tribute. Needless to say, I don't like the new Star Trek/Star Ship Troopers movie. If you are under 40 yrs of age, don't reply to this,
I'm under the age of 40 but I agree with you,, I grew up watching reruns of TOS so I had a harder time getting into the "Newer" stuff. I did like the new movie as a stand alone SciFi movie but it will never come close to Gene's original vision.
@RayTheRealPlumber i have been a fan since 1965 i do like the new film i unlike the rest will give the man time if we dont paramount will never go back to it again i cant live with that that is why i am sticking my neck out and saying this multiple timelines are what star trek does
Its a true Rape of History that a piece of shit like J J Abrams can wipe out all of this, which we grew up to when we were kids. His Fucked Up Vision of how Star Trek should have been done will hit the theater within 1 Week. I am glad that the late Gene Roddenberry does'nt have to watch a fucked up money grubbing distruction of one of his greatest stories.

@RayTheRealPlumber....Couldn't agree more with you. I'm actually dreading the release of this so called "rebooted version of Star Trek". The beauty of TOS was it's originality and although the franchise lost some of it through the years, it still managed to keep it's essence in TNG, Deep Space 9 and even Voyager (I'd like to pretend like Enterprise never happened). But this Monstruosity that J.J Abrams is about to release is more like a hijacking of a perfectly good concept than a rebooting.
You're "dreading" the release of a movie? It can't HURT you. I've seen an advance screening of the film and it's fantastic. It doesn't erase the DVDs of TOS, it's totally in the spirit of Trek and full of reverent references to the past. There's room in this world for different versions of everything from Shakespeare to Batman. Trek preaches diversity, people, so either embrace change and stop being so closed minded or don't see it. Either way, don't whine about it without giving it a chance.
@David8693...."You're "dreading" the release of a movie? It can't HURT you".LOL LOL nice sarcasm friend. The point I was making was not to "whine" as you soo eloquently called it, but rather to reiterate some of the feelings RayTheRealPlumber expressed earlier. I happen to think that not every movie or TV serie needs to be "rebooted", "revisited" or otherwise into an edgier version filled with explosions and younger/sexier versions of characters we came to appreciate for more than their looks.
@harden1134...What can I say, it felt like the rape of a 43 year old legacy in Motion Picture, to me at least. Let's just say that if this new movie was a space ship, it wouldn't be space worthy LOL LOL LOL (Yeah I know a lame space joke).
@harden1134....You are unfortunately the perfect example of these sad individuals that seat behind their keyboards and insult people, when in reality you are nothing but a cockroach. I leave you to your stupidity in the hopes that you're not going to choke in it.
@harden1134.... If you want to preach a certain conduct, you should practice it first. I've expressed my opinion without resorting to insults or putting anyone else down for liking it. But I guess that's the difference between you and I.
@harden1134...First of all, I'm not even going to dignify the discusting comment you just made by responding to it with equaly discusting words. However, before you call someone else "an ignorant close minded s***" for expressing an opinion that contradicts your own, maybe you should try and embody the precepts of open mindness yourself.
I found the new movie pretty genius.... A parallel reality, based on a damage of the original timeline. The kirk of the new movie is a different James Tiberius Kirk, since his father died when he was born.
yes the new movie is very good. The new Kirk is very rough around the edges but he will become similar to the Kirk of TOS but there will be fundamental difference.
Masterfully done. Only scene or quote I would have like to seen/heard was when he read from the Preamble to the Constitution. That one gives me chills to this day.
Filmmakr1- What a masterpiece you've put together. There is no Star Trek original series without the original musical score. The background music is like no other TV show or movie ever. Shatner's performance as KIrk (Kelley's as Bones and Nemoy's as Spock's) is multiplied with the music. As long as Western Civilization holds on to its visual arts, this body of work will live on in imaginations yet to be. The music is almost holy.
lol u know i was actualy thinkin lol imagine in the 09 star trek moive IF JJs ship actualy had a chance to confront the planet killer just as the TOS entepirse did now how would that turn out to any of you ppl here mm?
That was an excellent compilation of scenes from the classic series. One thing I always thought Hollywood could have improved on was when the Enterprise fires it's phasers they seem to go out at angles from the ship but somehow they converge on target. Oh well...great video though!
From personal experience I now how difficult it can be at times to get clean sound bites from a TV show. Especially if you have your eyes set on something specific. A lot of work must have gone into this. Congratulations on the editing and concept for the video.
