This game was such a huge disappointment. I haven't fully given up on it yet, because I want to see what they have planned with the changes. I started playing in Nov, I put it down its just boring and slow. I had more fun with XI, the Japanese are even disappointed with it... Guild Wars 2, will kill this game, if they don't make some drastic worthwhile changes.. The whole weapons wearing, and feeling of being forced to craft, is such an annoyance as well.

I beta-tested this game also. I played ffxi and I was looking forward to this game. I pre-ordered the game which is how I got into the beta. Luckly I saw the writing on the wall and canceled my pre-order.

I used to defend ff games when I was young. My gaming buddies would tell me how crappy they were because of the graphics. I would say the story rocks. Now its the opposite. The game sucks and the graphics look good. My how times change. The mighty have fallen. My heart breaks. =(

I beta-tested this game, and it was crap when I did. I will consider playing it should they ever make it not crap. I'm sure it'll eventually come around, considering just how unhappy SE is with their own game.

Let me know when it actually gets to a point where it's a joy to play.

Well, I stopped playing as well =/ that's why I'm not uploading more vids.

This game has A LOT of potential and can be a WoW killer anytime, but SE messed up combat system, world mapping, immersion etc... you feel like you're losing time everytime you log on and play u_u

Anyways, they're changing alot of stuff, I guess reviews would give it a 6.0 instead of 4.0.

There's still alot of work to do, hope we can get a 8.0+ game, then I'll come back and post more vids!

Love the video can;'t wait to get this on PS3. Last I heard was the game was finished with porting to PS3 and all that's left is extra optimization. Hopefully though, the beta is still on track and we get early access to it.

Lalafell looks like it moves faster because the legs go twice as fast haha. This is really good gameplay footage and has restored my excitement in getting this on the PS3. Thanks :)

which race is best for that job

my gf wants to be Lalafell and she asked me to be the same race but im worried if i pick melee job later ... since tarus in FFXI have low HP and STR

@IamHim22 Each race has two different clans and each clan has different starting stats. Str, Vit, Dex, Int, Mnd, Piety and elemental stats are the only stats that are affected. You get to assighn stat points to whichever stats you'd like though when you level up so every race is pretty damn even in this regard. A rank 50 Lalafell Gladiator can have the exact same stats and HP/MP as a rank 50 Roegadyn Gladiator granted that your stats distribution is pretty much identical with a slight variation.

@IamHim22 Plainsfolk Lalafell: Str:13, Vit:13, Dex:17, Int:16, Mnd:15, Piety: 16. Sea Wolf Roegadyn: Str:17, Vit:18, Dex:13, Int:12, Mnd:16, Piety:14. These are the starting stats for these two clans. Maximum level Plainsfolk Lalafell Lancer: Str:130 (capped), Dex:130 (capped), Vit:85. Maximum level Sea Wolf Roegadyn: Str:130 (capped) Dex:130 (capped), Vit 90. The Roegadyn will have 5 extra Vit but that's it! Isn't there stat conversion traits too? Idk but your race has no impact on your class!

@IamHim22 I'm going to make a Midlander Hyur because it's the best looking male race to me. I absolutely wanted to make a male Miqo'te but it's not going to be playable, unfortunately. I'm not into big hulky or talll and lanky or really short characters so it was a simple process of elimination.

@omnivirus It's actually the people who play alot of MMORPGs that dislike the game.

Combat (aside from ui lag) isn't where the game's issues lie. I like the game and actively play it, so I can tell you that much :P.

@ian699 I play with Gamepad, so the gameplay you saw is similar to the PS3!

With pad you can do faster movements and play with the camera, so targetting is easyer and faster with pad, also battles are awesome when you can change the camera while fighting!

The bad point is that you have to scroll for all skills one by one (with keyboard you just press 1-9), but won't be a problem after some practice, and imo, it's better because you can play even on bed and watching always the screen.

@ChocoFeru you can also hook up a mouse and keyboard to your ps3 if you decide the controller isnt working out for ya... or use all 3 wen necessary

@ChocoFeru I agree its more comfortable to play with a gamepad. I use my PS3 pad. Do you play with USB or do you have a BT stick? Also would like to know with which prog you compress the video from fraps. greets

@jdakiss I play using Xbox360 USB pad, it was cheaper and plug&play!

And I use Adobe Premiere to compress the video, but I'm noob still, I don't know how to put words and effects still!
