We also did concerts, radio shows and other public appearances with Eubie for almost 15 years. We spent many treasured hours at the piano talking music and American musical history. Please define your adjective...... in classical music "impressionism" utilized the absence of a tonal center, achieved by extensive (but not exclusive) use of whole tones. My first thought is that a stride piano piece based on whole tones would fall into the category of "novelty" piano. What do you think, viewers?
