I was there and have never seen Seattle so excited. Finally we got to hit the streets to celebrate a sweeping political victory, and not to protest with a collective sense of despair and hopelessness.

For the first time in 8 years, I'm proud of my country, and the hard work you put into this campaign, the barriers broken, the significance of an African-American being elected president, the rejection of the old, the ushering in of a new era. For all the crap we hear about the problems with the youth of America, you've proven that you are the greatest generation. I sat on my balcony crying, watching this spontaneous party, the people smiling, the cops dancing. Thank you, young Americans.
