This song is so powerful. My youth group did a skit/drama to it on a retreat, and I was literally overcome with emotion even while we were acting. Casting Crowns is such a good group.

God created a earth of peace and equality and joy until sin entered by man's disobedience (Adam and Eve) and it continues in that way because sin is still in the world done by man. Adversity and pain help us to recognize our weaknesses and our need for God, which helps us to humble ourselves and be receptive to HIS will, rather than our own, which helps us to grow in ways we never otherwise could have dreamed or hoped. For far BETTER and more philosophically articulate answers, please, please read CS Lewis.

He, like you, thought (when he was young) that the world was too "frail and faulty" to be the work of a loving God. @julsjulajulieta Casting Crowns is an explicitly Christian band. The song explicitly mentions "Jesus", and IMPLICITLY references Jesus, God, and standard Christian themes. And Christians don't tend to believe that you CAN truly be set "free" by anything other than Jesus. That's the point of Christianity.

Remember when Peter asked how many times he must forgive others? Jesus said "seventy times seven", which I take to mean "without measure". Jesus will forgive you that much, and only for the asking. God may be allowing you to experience a difficult trial to help you understand the depths of His love, and draw nearer to Him for it.

This song is so amazing... the first time I heard this song was with Place Vendome.. but this one is so much better....

i cant listen to this song and feel nothing inside of me. whenever it plays i feel empowered, safe, in love, and warmly overwhelmed. theres just nothing like it. i love this song, and God is definitely working through Casting Crowns. <3

my saint is saint Monica, and her son st. Augustine was a huge sinner. he committed every sin you can think of & he still became a saint, not a half saint! a whole saint! he even wrote a book about it. it's huge. it's called CONFESSIONS. go find it! read it. I know I am.
