  • i was just listening to this song like 2 days ago and now when i listen to it agian its all messed up'

  • i'm pretty sure the woodpecker noise is supposed to be a crackling effect. like an old record you know?

  • lol..woodpecker scared the crap outta me

  • how anyone can dislike this is beyond me. Sheer musical perfection.

  • my lungs are broken bcoz of smoking.

  • Play this song while you play "War sounds" on another tab. It goes together perfect.

  • That ain't woodpeckers. It's like an ending to a film, when it runs out of picture er whatever...it starts "clipping" i guess you'd call it. That what it sounds like to me anyways.

  • I'm not sure if everyone here gets that the sound at the end isn't supposed to be there...

  • This band. This song. These lyrics and their meaning.

  • this song has such a peaceful heartbreaking feeling to it. i know that seems like it contradicts itself but im not sure how to explain what im feeling right now. but it is like a perfect rainy day song.

  • this song is going to get filthy

  • the end sounds like choppers closing in!! sort of spooky when you think about the meaning behind the song.

  • This is one of the few bands that gives me the same comforting feeling, the same feeling of a slight rainy day in the Arizona desert, the same feeling of walking through that same rainy desert, through the high cliff peaks, looking up at the dense gray clouds... Not many bands actually give me that feeling.

Tool and Thrice are the only ones I can think of off hand.

  • @XxSeanOfDeathxX Underoath gives me the same feeling. :)

  • Love the lyrics.

  • Last night I was with a friend up in the mountains watching the sunset smoking, and this song came on and both of us suddenly reaized what it was about.

Which was trippy as hell because it was the tenth anniversary..

It was one of those moments that give you an eerie chill deep down. I can't even describe it..

  • @mamabiird it tripped me out when they released the earth and air albums. I told people these albums have a theme of involving the elites (what ever you want to call them) agenda that is taking place.

  • @ryanorwell1984 Thought I was the only one who had suspicions on Dustin's knowledge of the oligarchy and projecting that within his music. Love this band, by far my favorite of all time...

  • The day to listen.

  • Keep listening to this today...

  • The meaning behind this gives me chills.

  • All those lives lost. We felt violated, unsafe, to be tainted from within...

  • Really awesome!

  • my friend made me listen to this song on his Dre Beat head phones when he went to the bar one time.. it was seriously amazing!!

  • @blanket003 yup adventure club brought me here too, the change of tempo is so dramatic lol, with dubstep being way faser

  • whats the woodpecks for?

  • @RunescapeFate haha what the hell man, it came out three years ago

I don't think it's hit nostalgia territory juuuust yet

  • @Tarranon 20$ says he's 14...

  • @christopher2step make it $50

  • I remember finding out about Thrice on an ATTICUS mixed CD that i bought at Target "To awake and avenge the dead" it was a PUNK cd, so sick that they are still together putting good music out, the mature more the older they get! but the old shit is great too!

  • @lazxgetsxlow

Was Finch on that? If so, I had that. Man, that was along time ago.

  • from 3:58 on I was sure my laptop broke D:

  • BEST ENDING EVER

  • this song reminds me of 911! RIP

  • @TheHillsvainkill

    it is about 9/11

  • @saintsaybia oh now i know

  • theres a machine gun at the end ! wooahhh !

  • Sad, This is such a wonderful song musically, sucks the message really sucks all of the listenability out of it. Thank god Daedalus more than makes up for it.

  • @Mebibit Take away from it what you see, but this song is beautiful in intent and execution. Thrice for life.

  • new THRICE worth a listen, old THRICE worth a live show. it's a real shame they retired all the old songs. their new sounds is amazing but the shows aren't anything like how it was back then.

  • wtf is that noise at the end

  • I saw a comment telling me to listen to this song after listening to "America" by Malbec. Just perfect, please do the same, you'll be glad you did

  • i dont think the version of this i have on my ipod has the woodpeckers at the end? :S

  • @RageDiaries bonus

  • @RageDiaries hase any of you ever heard a woodpecker? unless my computer is broken that sounded nothing like one. maybe if a woodpecker had its genes spliced with a jack hammer...

  • @RageDiaries how is that a woodpecker? sounds more like a jackhammer!

  • thrice the band to play at Conan O'Brien spread the word

  • Lol scientology. Let's just listen to the awesome music, mmkay?

  • Man Thrice Rocks!

  • 3:55 - 4:14 is pure bliss.

  • I never get tired of listening to Thrice! my 2nd all time favorite band!

  • @saulini27 What's your favorite? Thrice used to be my 2nd favorite after Muse until they came out with Beggars. Now they are my #1 favorite. Just wondering because I might have to look into that band on your #1 favorite if they are above Thrice = )

  • "It is not my actions or nature of mentallity that erosed your diametrical treatment for me, but yours own that introduced to me what you attempted to prevent within the very depth of my own mind"-by me. to everyone (father). you sowe what you reap, my inability to progress through social ranking is due to your own treatment which you assumed exsisted in me, what you tried to sympathize with and prevent; ironically was the cause of what you tried to not plant within my own garden.

  • for anyone curious about what the songs about, hes talking about the fact that 9/11 was a conspiracy and we(most americans) still believe the lie. Look up truth 9/11 or just watch the video where they found traces of nano-thermite in the rubble a few yrs back. If believing the lies fox news has fed to you makes you feel safer, then go with it, i personally prefer the truth.

  • @impulsevirus you're an idiot... that's about as stupid as scientology.. you might as well just said that the evil lord zenu just crashed his giant spaceship filled with alien souls into the twin towers

  • @jtrimble381 I'm an idiot, and yet your the one making a scientology reference... your comment is about as relevant as your opinion, go do your homework.

  • @impulsevirus dude! if they were trying to make it seem like a terrorist attack then they wouldnt have used explosives why the fuck would they need them? they just crashed two planes into the buildings.. but ohh lets give incrimonating evidence and throw some explosives in there when they're not needed.. not to mention the fact that there's no hard evidence of nano whatever the fuck you said.. all you're doing is being disrespectfull to all the people that died..

  • @jtrimble381 if anything your walking on the dead by being ignorant...btw the truth 9/11 foundation was founded by family of some of the victims killed... so like i said earliar do your fuckin homework =)

  • @impulsevirus "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." Carl Sagan

9/11 conspiracy theorists provide not even ordinary evidence for their extraordinary claims. It's really interesting the mind of someone like that... they won't believe those things for which great evidence exists, but they are more than willing to believe anything that feeds into an x-files delusion. If there is practically no evidence, it must be true! Right?

  • @jtrimble381 Hey look up building 7 and tell me that fell from a fire man........Open your eyes there is alot more questions then answers regarding 9/11..

  • @jtrimble381

Well the song is about 9/11.

  • one two thrice, wew here thrice, were here

  • Everything just works here. From the lyrics to the drums to the vocals foreground and back to the guitars and bass GAHHH!! Awesome music is awesome.

  • I love all of Thrice's song but the one I love the most has to be the Earth Will Shake

  • last part of the song was the best it suprised me

  • its about 9/11

  • fucking great, idk why the annoying ass ticking sound is there at the end

  • Dustin Kensrue for President!

  • This song just gave me chills, but hey, its thrice! so, nothing new there! :P

  • Thrice brings out too many of my emotions, it's painful sometimes.

But damn it hurts so good. :D

  • Thrice is a group of musical geniuses, there is simply no two ways about it. I never cease to be amazed by them. Especially since i just realized 5 minutes ago that this song is about 9/11, and applies to the controversy regarding the "ground zero mosque."

  • @MBIIdollaBill No the song has absolutely nothing to do with that particular mosque.....the song was created way before that controversy and is about the entire 9/11 events

  • @LoverOfTruth2010 wtf i know that...im saying the song applies in the current situation

  • @MBIIdollaBill how?

  • Muslims died on 9/11. Less than 10% of Muslims advocate violent jihad. The American rule of law protects religious freedom and seperates church from state. America's legal system favors religious tolerance. America's legal system also prevents the rule of the majority over the minority.

  • @LoverOfTruth2010 You do realize there is no way to make an accurate percentage of Muslims that actually believe in Jihad right? Nice try though.

  • @123456789anda0 hahaha radical jihad you dingas

  • @LoverOfTruth2010 k my friend tried 2 explain. u and family r hungry, they tell you you die 4 god get virgins and your kids will never be hungry again and that americans are the cause. when you are starving you will believe anything. if you dont they will shoot u and the kids anyways. its not fair to blame an entire religion 4 what some radical group does.

  • thats not what we meant when we said that we never would forget.. man thrice hits you hard but man is it true

  • I love the meaning behind this song. soon it will be the tenth anniversary. another year.

  • Great song.

I heard a very annoying ticking sound at the end. Anyone else?

  • @significantjoe i heard it as well

  • @significantjoe haha yeah thats how the song goes

  • @cutsandbruises101 wait, so they orchestrated and compesed the song to contain an orgasmic first 3 minutes, featuring 10 ending seconds where your computer/cd player/ audio sounds as if they secretly snuck in and hid a BOMB.

    Wonderful.

    .

  • @significantjoe yea wtf is that? i thot my computer was about crap out on me again

  • this album is one of there best by far, i love driving to this album

  • wow new band for mey and so good

  • @Kannnas Alot of their songs are some of the best you'll hear. Try these: Digital sea, Daedalus, Red Sky, Open Water, Atlantic, For Miles, Burn The Fleet, Stare at the Sun.

  • @kyrokid21 Don't forget "A Song For Milly Michaelson". That one is GOOD. The other songs you listed are up their on my list as well; especially "Red Sky" and "Atlantic"

  • @llecho419ll I Love A Song For Milly Michaelson

  • this will go down as one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • @Spakkovernichter you're very gay!!!

you're one of the most boring people in the world,

the only person which is more gay than you is richard simmons!!!

  • @Sherb993 That is so frikkin' hilarious... It's a flame without any profanity/sexual innuendos. I love it. Thumbs up kid.

  • @Spakkovernichter for those of you who just started reading these comments here, the fool i am relying to thinks this band is homosexual. i say nay, you troll. and yes, i know the comment i'm replying to is a year old, but it's best for spakkoveretard to have shame. and i'm just overcomplicating a comment that's just supposed to say you's a nub, you nub, but i can't resist making it ultra long.

  • Thrice will always be my favourite band from First Impressions all the way to Beggars they are awsome the whole way. Viva La Thrice!

  • they really should be more popular

  • Great job illuminati

  • new stuff<old Thrice

  • In the last vocal part ("we want justice..."), Thrice manages to perfectly captured the unpredictable, powerful, violent, and halcyon properties of wind. Forkin awesome.

  • I agree, sometimes he sounds like Jared Leto. Love Thrice's new stuff. Instrumentals are awesome, too.

  • I definitely think Dustin wrote this song about 9/11 and the attacks.

  • @sfarid64 He did, that is what this song is about.

  • i recall reading somewhere that this is bout the 9/11 tragedy .. lyrics seem to agree.

anyway ... i love this song! amazing!! xD

  • @PoorJadedKid91 agreeee

  • its just me or the intro sounds like "let down" of radiohad?

  • the end of this song is fuggin awesome.

  • don't know why but "a fire burns beneath manhattan" is such a good fooking lyric

  • Is it just me or does Dustin sound a lot like Jared Leto from 30stm at the start of the song?

  • Its just you, sorry

  • The AIR cd is my favorite with WATER a close second.

  • Thrice = Genius

all of it. new stuff, old stuff, side profect stuff. love it all <3

  • "Are we fools and cowards all, to let them cover up their lies, cuz we all watched the buildings fall. thrice knows, exactly.

  • Truly epic...

  • We love you Thrice.

  • anybody who appreciates music....appreciates the fuck out of this album and Thrice as a band and musicions. Musically, this album is GENIUS.

  • yep, absolutely best band ever :)

  • what the fck..i come here to listen to the bast band ever and all of a sudden there's an idiot talking 'bout gorillas..fck off

  • @mentecho F you man relle you say that about thrice they are the greatest really f you you dick hole

  • Good band music flows well together and has smooth vocals.

  • Everyone should just shut the fuck up

    9-11 happened get over it

    just listen to the music

  • @bmxfreestyle03 get over it? why should we? ok, so someone kills your mom or other family member. a few years later your still not sure what exactly happened and it is still on your mind alot. someone tells you "shut the fuck up, it happened. get over it"

  • Everyone tries to sound so smart, and superior over this comment box here. It really depresses me. So I listen to thrice, making their guitars and drums sound like water, let it soak in. We could all learn a little something from their inner logic. we're all human, we're all united by our common make-up, hearts, eyes, hands. Together, anything can be accomplished, torn up like we are, we make very little progress, and things like 9/11 easily swept under the rug.

  • kickass song but messes up at 3:58 =(

  • lol we all know its america and there fucked up govermant, who has created half of the terror that they are so called trying to fight against, and a hell of alot of ppl are blind to see this and think that america are rite when there not they just want world order themselves, no offence to americans urselfs cos i know u arnt all the same but if could whipe any goverment out it would be urs simple they have fucked up alot

  • 1. Learn to spell jackoff

    2. Stick to music and stay out of politics

    3. If wish to engage in World of politics then read and watch the news instead sitting on your ass do nothing; and placing blame elsewhere

    4. Any country that actively engaging World instead of hiding (hmmm Europe) fully understand back-lash is evitable

  • @jls5y5 you can't use your first bullet point to insult someone and tell them to learn how to spell, when you made several errors in your own comment. it makes you look dumber than the person your talking to.

  • this is true, as america set-up the terrorists in the middle east to combat the soviet union in the cold war, and they funded the ira, america started terrorism in theory!

  • couldn't write it any better

  • Youtube: The Third Building

    ..if you want more proof

for those of you who do not know, there was a third WTC that fell..not even hit by a plane.

and the most compelling part of it was that a news reporter had reported it 15 minutes before it fell--all while it was standing behind her.

  • i bet the news reporter did it then. lol.

  • haha yeah and I could youtube the Loch Ness Monster and UFOs and Bigfoot and videos that show that there wasn't even a plane and all kinds of garbage doesn't mean it's true...sorry but a youtube video isn't exactly compelling evidence...

  • what IS compelling evidence if you cannot talk to the world leaders about this topic?

why would the government confiscate over 80 videos on 9/11?

why would the 9/11 commission report not even MENTION the 3rd building? most people don't even know that a 3rd one fell..

and yes, one can put ANYTHING on youtube; and i've seen a lot of shit. but not every single conspiracy is complete shit..

  • "...i've seen a lot of shit. but not every single conspiracy is complete shit.. "

    Yeah, but yours is.

  • no kidding. :P

  • i wouldn't use the term moron when referring to you half as much as i'd use douchebag.

  • Are you talking about Building 7, the Salomon Brothers building. Yeah they were reporting the collapse live on BBC while the building was STILL STANDING. And then conveniently they lost the transmission.

  • what a wonderful song

  • they don't believe it was an inside job...the song is about how this could have been easily prevented and wasn't and no one was held accountable for it.

  • Hmm, yeah that's a much better idea. It really sounded like it was suggesting they were, but I'll listen to it again with that in mind. If that's the case then I totally agree with the song lol.

  • idk, i feel like this song is more about how basically yeah, it sucked that it happened, and we got hurt badly, but what ended up happening is that the government used our pain and emotion to manipulate us into attacking people who didn't really have anything to do with it. basically, the government used a bad situation for its own benefit, and we sat by and let it happen.

i THINK thats the point they are trying to make.

  • Also a valid point. Governments sure are good at that. I'd much rather like to believe that's what it is about...

  • friggin awesome : )

  • I <3 the conspiricy theories in these comments. lol has anyone heard the one that says obama is actually bin laden?! how amazing and terrible would it be if that was true! guess we'll never really know. lol

  • wow...haha I'm sorry but...that makes you sound incredibly uneducated and ignorant...no offense meant to you whatsoever I'm just telling you what it looks like when you say things like that. And I am by no means an Obama supporter, I'm very conservative, so I'm not just trying to defend him. It's just an absolutely ridiculous statement to make

  • lol, dont even remember this. I dont believe in conspiricy theories, and I like obama, I just enjoy hearing them. its like im not christian, I dont believe in god but I like some of the stories from the bible. I like harry potter doesnt mean I think wizards and witches exist lol. I didnt mean any offence or anything. sorry for sounding uneducated, maybe i am when it comes to whatever we're talking about... lol sorry

  • haha aight no prob...just wanted to let you know ha

  • Have any of you ever considered the fact that maybe the government DIDN'T want to kill it's own people? Crazy idea, I know...but I don't think you guys realize how impossible it would be for our government to pull this off and cover it up...do some research before you come up with these ridiculous theories.

  • Wow.... you actually expect some good from the goverment..... how naive....

  • so amazing.

  • HCxDav3man... Wrong

  • well damn..i cant even state my own opinion without people having to bullshit about it. such a great world we live in..

  • im pretty sure this song is about 9/11 and how the government tried to make it look like a terrorist attack but it was really our own nation.

  • I really didn't get why you received a thumbs down for saying something true...They really do brainwash some people...

  • it was not a terrorist attack and it definately had nothing to do with iraq .. but i dont think it was your own nation either.. it's someone controlling the leaders of your nation

  • lol listen to this awsome song so much its so amazing thrice rules

  • lol, are you stupid?

  • is it true that this song is about 9/11?

  • Yes.

  • yea, if you were to listen to the lyrics one would think this. Phrases such as " as we all watched the buildings fall" and " a fire burns beneath Manhattan" but i think it is aimed more towards about the supposed cover-up.

  • makes me wanna cry tears of joy and sadness, dont know many songs that make me wanna do that. they are able to evoke different emotions so beautifully and mold it all into one beautiful masterpiece. its quite a magical experience

  • is that what we meant?

  • We want justice.

    We want the truth.

  • I could never forget what happened
