Oil from your fingers can and will ruin the paper and drawing very easily, so use a blending stump or tear off a sheet of paper and roll it up to do it, but never ever, ever, ever, ever use your finger to blend the shadows in.
i think you did a great job at the lips and nose because people arent perfect and some of us have larger lips and wider noses/ and some with smaller lips and narrow noses. great job

I would say do not be afraid to work with more dramatic darks and lights. It will give your subject more depth and contrast.
You could add wonderful texture to the hair, with a slight wash of grey and then erase away for highlights.

Have you tried doing hair hightlights and such? that adds to drawings more if you put them in the right places. Nice drawing though.
