I play fiberglass and its not the best but its better than lugging 20 lbs metal around for marching practice everyday.

I had to play with a fiberglass tuba once... I'm glad I never have to again.

Reason A.) The things have HORRIBLE sound quality.

Reason B.) It's nearly as bad as playing with a glass tuba- it breaks really easily.

Reason C.) They look downright shitty. Mine was a white colored one, and it looked like it had tuba warts or something.

Sousaphones are more meant for being heard than sounding good. They don't sound terrible, but when's the last time you saw a Sousaphone playing in concert band?
