Sophiemarie49 Please consider the following questions. If the law is to insure same pay for same work, why do labor unions fiercly oppose "piece work", or pay er production salaires? If the chinese have a lack of goverment, why are the people forced to stay inside the country, and are prohibited from recieving outside news? Bankers only did what the Clinton Administration forced upon them, make home loans open to people who could not afford them. It all goes back to individual responsiblity.

The Chinese government is very strong militarily but not in enforcing safety and health inspections. Different priorities.

To blame the bank problems on home loans to people who couldn't afford them, is to ignore all the bad loans given to investors for 2nd, 3rd and 4th properties while they gambled house prices would go up indefinitely. Banks have a responsibility to their investors to not carelessly risk their money.

If she had the skills, and she did not like her pay at Goodyear, she should have gone to Firestone Tire, and improved that company, increaseing sales over Goodyear. This would cause Goodyeare to raise their payscales to attract better employees to achive better sales than their compition.

Did this woman ever provide any evidence thta she was "paid less than my male colleagues"? Any bank statements or checks and whatnot? Or is it all conjecture on her part just to have her 15 minutes of fame and campaign for a certain political issue? Did she ever look at the checks of male colleagues and notice something odd? Did she ask male colleagues how much they made?

And lastly, was the discrepancy really that big? If it wasn't, then shut up. if it was like 1 cent different, so what.

Leadbetter is a dork. She may have brought her case within the designated period of time. Instead the cow decised to wait until she retired. I don't care if was a widow, have a 100 mouths to feed etc.  It does not matter. The only thing that matters is that she could not sue Good Year as the time to bring the suit has expired.

From the time I graduated from college in 1960 until I retired in 1999, I worked and was paid less than male colleagues. My husband died when I was 35 so I was the sole support of two children. Lilly is to be commended for fighting this. It happens to too many women.

I hope everyone that is disgusted by Goodyear's response to Mrs. Ledbetter's action will shop elsewhere for their tire and other such products. I hope everyone that is disgusted by the justice system will do whatever they can to voice their disgust and change the "system". I am proud of this woman and saddened about her case. This is just one example of the legacy of George Bush and his far reaching influence as shown by the Supreme Court. I have a mother, two sisters and one daughter and am incensed by this Supreme Court decision which is clearly unjust and unfair to all woman.
