  • I have a Thomas Palace III that I would never consider gutting, just as you preserved your Conn. Any organ saved from the landfill is commendable, but it doesn't warrant ripping out the original circuits. If you are someone who is not planning to use the original transistor/tube/ LSI circuits DO NOT GUT YOUR ORGAN. Instead find an alternative that will allow you to leave those circuits alone for future owners when going MIDI. It really can be a win win situation where you invest less work&$

  • fantastic buglers holiday

  • Memories of the late Helen Dell at the old Dodger Stadium Conn Organ.

  • You know why they call it CONN?

  • How did you make the Conn still available yet enabling MIDI?

  • The Conn 652 series has spare contact whiskers under every note, you just need to add an extra bus bar under each manual (the mounting holes are there to take them) The Midi output is then totally independent of the Conn function. They can be used one without the other or combined.

  • I have a Conn 652 that I have been considering converting in just this way. I notice that no stops are used, only combination pistons. Are the Conn voices still available?

  • Yes, all the original Conn is still there and can be played on its own or with the virtual organ.

  • Wow.. what a great player. I really enjoyed this... a lot of fun.

  • Do you use the Bruce Miles Sfs? Not a bad sound at all. The 5th star for your hard work.

  • Yes, this system is using the standard Bruce Miles sound-font.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Hey! I enjoyed that. That Miditzer sounds pretty darn good. Was the conversion a big job?

  • She plays good and solid.
