  • Deborah Kerr did a great job as Lygia ! This is one of her underrated roles. I think that even she did not realise how good she had been in that role. She was so luminous and full of dignity. None of the other film versions of Quo Vadis had such a perfect Lygia. Kerr could play just with the use of her eyes, showing love, hatred, longing and other emotions. There is a great chemistry between her and Robert Taylor (Marcus) as, for example, at 8:54 !

  • it's a great classic and peter ustinov is amazing in this movie...But, the real Nero let people enter in his mansion during the fire, and he was definitely not responsible for the disaster. Probably Christian "extremists" were. Fiction is one thing, history is another.

  • Indeed--Nero was a madman and Petronius was a true Roman who was moral and just---this movie is SO good--love it--thanks for posting leseawri!

  • Petronius is the greatest char ever :)

  • "How can I accept that mob to share my vision!”

    Masterpiece of Peter!
