  • this is somr racist shit

  • 1:20 HOLY CRAP Peter Pan's getting a lap dance???

    In a Disney movie???

  • I'm just happy they didn't make a song called 'What made the Black man Black.'

  • im mix with Native American and African American so i love both of my cultures im mad bcuz when i was a little girl i use to be red and now im carmel.i was born with some kind of liver disorder that mess up my skin color

  • man when i was a kid that chief scared the shit outta me!!!!

  • and yes, i too was afraid of the chief! xD now i think he's awesome :)

  • I love being a Native american. this song isn't even racist! i love this song! lovely music ^_^ I've always loved pow wows :D

  • you guys are mad

  • The Amazing Atheist sent me here.

  • I am Native American. Odawa. Pocahontas does not make up for this... nothing can make up for any of it. This was born from ignorance...

  • when peter is looking at the princess danceing its was like looking at a kid strip club

  • This is so racist lol

  • If I was Wendy, I'd be P.O.'d too!

  • The Red Cheif makes many girls moan

  • Thats good old fashioned family racism for you

  • this is racest to Native people jk its funny as fuck even tho im native american its funny

  • My sister in law is Navajo and sings this all the time, cracks me up

  • I remember the Chief used to scare me as a child.

  • HANA MANA GANDA HANA MANA GANDA

  • @appleman53 WHAT DOES THAT EVEN FREAKING MEAN!!!!!!!!!

  • this isnt fuckin racist you panzys. grow up. its cute, they didnt make any fucking offensive gesture so fuck off! =] they're "red!" we dont call them, slightly redder than usual skin. just as african americans are BLACK when theyre obviously chocolate brown! and white people arent white at all we're pinkish, were all kinds of colors. it was just easier to say red man.

  • Oh God...Peter Pan, how could you.....you cheated on Wendy!! And then you had to go for her daughter......:( But still, it brought back nostalgia. But, still, Wendy should put him on Maury(I've always been a PeterxWendy fan...)

  • @greekmythotaku I'd love to see a parody of that. lol

  • i was in the Indian Reservations in AZ this past weekend, i couldnt get this song out of my head whenever i was in one.

  • tigerlily is getin her table dance on

  • I hope people realize these Indians aren't actual Native Americans, they're a fictional race in Neverland that are based on them.

  • Everyone argues about the racial aspect but when these were made people didnt care so much about it...but now its huge being politicaly correct lol its an awesome story and Disney (classic) movie so chill and smile

  • I think all songs in Walt Disney's movie are awesome

  • Disney won't release "Song of the South" because it's supposedly racist, but THIS is okay??? Someone explain it to me!!!!

RELEASE "SONG OF THE SOUTH" ON HOME DVD!!!!!

  • @GeorgiaKev i know! Song of the South was a good movie :/

  • No- more like I can tell that this can be seen as offensive, but seriously? The book was written in the early 1900s and this movie (based on the book for any morons out there) was made in the 1950s. What were you expecting? Sure it's not politically correct, but that doesn't make it to the extremes you were talking about and innocent children don't sit there, analyze a song, and are "brainwashed" by it...

  • Why do they make Wendy get firewood instead of join in the fun with her brothers?

  • @Karuminu cuz the hoochi mama is too fat and lazy to do it herself.

  • Ha ha ha!! Yeah, it IS offensive, but my Lakota (Sioux) husband absolutely loves it. Lighten up.

  • Peter apparently Peter has a newfound taste in women

  • Also, when calling something such as this offensive you should consider when it was made. The original Peter Pan was written right at the end of the 1800's/start of the 1900's when it was still considered alright to say racist things like this.

  • Maybe we can even consider that what they say is only true for Neverland's Red men, not for Earth's Native Americans.

Anyway, it's not racist, it's just heavily stereotyped. If it was really racist (as in xenophobic), it would actually be made so that the children think the Amerindians are bad people, or that they're somehow superior to them, which isn't the case as it only shows them in comical (yet kinda stupid) way.

  • this is a kids song... all they think is "oh a song" and think its catchy, they don't go into depth about how it is (or could be poltentially- depending on your point of view) racist. There is worse out there.

  • Racist and catchy

  • 1:43 rather... the chief dancing

  • 1:40 best scene ever

  • @masterwhil agreed

  • I honestly still don't understand why he asks "How?"

  • The chief is doing the Futterwacken... vigorously!

  • @JamesMorrow07 Haha,i agree ! :)

  • man fuck wendy.

    Peter Pan+Tiger Lily FOREVER.

  • Offensive AND catchy!

  • why are they red?

  • I'm partially native american and I love this song! I'm not offended at all

  • may i just say, i know this may be a tad offensive to some people, and i express my sympathies to you. But this movie was made in a time when racism was common and before more equal rights came about so yeahh, this film probably did not mean any harm

  • wow... now I know why they only show the 2nd peter pan now....

  • love this song... can't help but notice how they didn't fail to color in the native americans

  • 1:44

    Shuffle like a BOSS!

  • @RenoReturns hell yes! The cheif dancing is the BEST part! Cracks me up every time!

  • "No dance! Squaw get some firewood!"

  • 1:21 super special slippery wet lapdance!

  • damn chief was gettin it at 1:45

  • 1:45 The Chief's a badass dancer!

  • i dont care what people say, i LOVE this song! :3

  • hana mana ganda

  • Cheif's got some mega awesome dance moves 1:46

  • Get some, Peter!

  • @TheSlumzTube When I watched this as a little kid, I was immediately enamored with the native americans!

  • I think this is one of the best scenes in the movie. C:

  • @grejsancoprative...Haha sad sad sad...smh you are going to waste your whole life giving a negative comment for no reason...you might think you dont care, but this is going to affect you in your fucked up life...if i were you ill get a job by now and get money instead of letting your fucked up mom babysitting you while you are talking shit on youtube, what a fucking idiot. And say nigger in front of a black person like me and ill black you out bitch.

  • Yes, they trivialy imitate Indian culture. And they alterate Greek myths. They also make up some history. They even dare to tell children they could fly under certain circumstances! C'mon, people, it's a FAIRY TALE!

Neverland is a place a child would imagine, so the creatures that inhabit it are fantastic and how a child could see them. What can be ever offensive about that?! It's like saying it's offensive to have the Lost Boys there and not explore domestic abuse. It's not the point, dammit!

  • @Cationna the point of the song is to teach kids racism if you cant see this then you are the idiot.

  • @smoothbrother69 Um, no, it's not. Even if creators of the song had been racist, it still doesn't work that way. If you actually believe in something, you don't sit trying to incorporate it into a story which message is in no way connected to the belief. And - one song won't change a child's ideology on the spot - cynical propaganda is done much more cleverly and thoroughly, believe me. E.g., observe how well propaganda of political corectness's worked... But, of course, I'm the blind idiot.

  • @Cationna Of course you are because this is a fairy tale aimed at kids. The story is full of morals and proverbs that the creators think are important to tell children. Racism is a part of the proverb that they want to tell people. All films have philosophy behind them that the author want to tell the viewer. Yes it does make a difference because this is not just one song it is an another attempt by the white supremecist to project their values of dehumanizing other people who are different.

  • @smoothbrother69 Clearly I'm an idiot, because obviously I- who adored this scene/movie/book- completely missed that part and instead thought. "Ohh! Fun song! I want to dance!" Then obviously from there I grew up thinking I was better than these "savages" because I was white and they were "red".

    .... I can't even -__-

  • @714lenaaa i am sure you are one of those people who believe redskin is a great name for a team and that it is stupid that people take offense to that name.

  • PeterxTigerlily FTW!

  • If you don't think this is racist go back to school!

This is obviously racist and sexist too...If you keep watching it they are immitating the culture of the native indians, which is really offended Oh ''What Made The Red Man Red?'' and you dont think that is racist...unbelieveable!

  • @TheSlumzTube

I think you're racist who have a nigger on your profile's background...

  • 1:13

"When the first brave married squaw

He gave out with a big ugh

    When he saw his Mother-in-Law"

the parents in the theater were probably laughing their asses off at this part! i did!

  • 1:45 -- hey, it's the very first Riverdance!

  • leave it to the internet to turn a cartoon clip from a disney movie into a racism discussion. go fuck yourselves you pansy coward fucks

  • @dekor1 i know right. lol i called'em panzys too =]

  • 13 squas need to getum firewood

  • I don't care if this is offendsive, IT'S CATCHY!!!

  • um, i'm Native American (Cherokee to be precise) and i'm so NOT offended. calm down....

  • i wacthed it and THEN red the comments and i would just like to say that i never saw this as rasist. oh and the lyerics are funny as shit!!!

  • cool ive been wondering what they were saying for a while now thanks for posting it with lyerics^^

  • While this scene right now is seen as racist. To many racists in the time period this movie was made would say that this is promoting miscegenation.

Many parents at the time refused to show their kids this film because it showed Peter Pan kiss an Injun (which at the time and even in some circles today is a bad example.)

  • I played this infront of a red man and he danced

  • Oh the goodness of none political correct movies... ^^ This movie is great.

  • lol i remember this song!!! =>

  • for the fucking time period this was made, it's just intollerable and inexcusable. I always kinda knew that walt disney was notorious for showing rascism, but holy fuck, this takes it to a whole nother basement level low.

  • That deep ass voice is so awesome. Smoke the peace pipe

  • The Indian 2nd to the left ( whith his hair covering his eyes) was ALWAYS my favorite growing up.

  • Lmfao, Everyone shut the fuck up. This is a children's movie, Who cares? It's not racist. It's creative. Get over yourselves.

  • Im cherokee and I love it. Mostly people that arent, are the ones that get offended. lol

  • Let's go back a million years, to the very first Indian prince. He kissed a maid and start to blush and we've all been blushin' since.

    Awww so cute!

  • i love the music in this song

more classic instruments and no electric crap

  • I can see this as being insulting if it were meant to be serious, but seeing how this is a kids movie I doubt that.

  • Guys, its not trying to be racist

  • I had forgotten how incredibly racist Disney Studios were back in the day.

Not particularly worse than anything else from it's time, but damn...

I feel a bit unclean after watching this

  • only bithces get offended. . im partially native american and i love dis.

  • @Bikendi100 partially...........

  • @Bikendi100 'Partially'? Almost any American can claim that. I guess you don't see the damage ignorant stereotypes can cause. I know for a fact, full-Natives on the reservations will feel very differently.

If I'm a 'bithce' for being offended, I guess all normal, tolerant and progressive people are.

  • @Lukege15

yuh have the right to have your own opinion

  • @Bikendi100 Wow...

Thanks for granting me free speech.

  • Sexism and Racism!

  • @AltoBrittany how is it sexism i know its racism though

  • @ldevans

Well, the women usher Wendy off from the party, and no other women are dancing or participating.

  • Comment removed

  • @AltoBrittany i still dont get it

  • @ldevans

Wendy is not aloud to dance, and must go do chores but all the other boys can dance.

  • @AltoBrittany But Tigerlily was dancing with Peter

  • Who cares! Kids now are watching sex and violence on every tv show and sexting each other!! They don't even have time to ponder the racisim in a freaking Disney song they are too busy trying to score dope!! People need to get over it and enjoy the freaking song!

  • Isnt it awsome how every video is about racisim, for crying out loud its a fucking disney movie.

  • this song is racist because of the lyrics, they're basically saying indian people used to be white - the 'normal' skin colour, and are red because they're all blushing. silly, but it is very racist.

  • @bacholerno you've read deeper into than i thought possible. Its not racism. If we call everything like this racism then 100% of people are racists. Its just like in the uk where its like people have forgot racism isn't just being rude to a black person. Racism is about treating someone differently because of thier race, its about hating that race for no good reason and its about being scared of difference. its not automatically racism because it mentions a colour or even if it stereotypes.

  • To be honest, even if it IS just the slightest bit politically incorrect, the Indians in Peter Pan aren't exactly represented as evil or bad intentionally, so its not hate. The only reason they attacked the lost boys in the first place was because they thought they had kidnapped Princess Tigerlily. Otherwise, they were on good terms with each other.

  • I love this song XD Such a catchy beat, and the Indian Chief's dance is epic :D

  • Mamibella828 AKA roxannehilton2 is a troll also known as roxannehilton2.

I fear she may have the hots for me. Why does she talk like Bert out of Sesame Street? Hah!!

  • I don't understand why people find this racist?

Stop over analyzing films and everything else in the media, and just enjoy it or flip the channel/page/station.

  • @Mamibella828 It's not as simple as ignoring the movie, the issue is that it exists and even if YOU were to change the channel, doesn't mean others will, and they might come to the idea that this would be your stereotypical "Indian", also thinking about it retroactively, those who have grown up thinking Indians would be talking/acting...etc like those in these kinda movies.

  • @XNinjaHanzoX and this is racist how?

  • @Mamibella828 the stereotypical nature of the characters they are portraying

  • @XNinjaHanzoX oh, ok

  • @XNinjaHanzoX , I'm of Native American descent and I find nothing offensive here. There's nothing but a FICTIONAL tribe that's doing their tribal dance and singing a folklore song. Would you rather see them sitting around a campfire drinking tea like posh Englishmen? THAT would be offensive to me! My ancestors were thieves and murderers and outright savages. Stereotypes are there for a reason, if they weren't true in some way, they would never exist.

  • @Curtis1551 I'm glad you said that and not a white person, its a sad state when people look at this and decide to kick up a fuss. I think while it isn't politically correct by today's standards there clearly is no malice, i think the whole blushing thing isn't racist at all, plus complaining about this stereotype....its almost like its a kids film...have the stereotype red indian and stereotype pirates and stereotype fairy...gosh i mean why would they do something so horrible

  • @RGSMANIA, exactly! It's just a harmless fictional folklore song that was made for children. Besides, stories wouldn't be much fun or interesting if they were all so politically correct

  • @Curtis1551 what tribe were your ancestors from, if you don't mind me asking?

  • @autumnhaze85, Blackfeet

  • @Curtis1551 from Canada or the United States?

  • @autumnhaze85, montana

  • @Mamibella828 Mamibella828 AKA roxannehilton2 is a troll also known as roxannehilton2. I fear she may have the hots for me. Why does she talk like Bert out of Sesame Street? Hah!!

  • @jfiIes0000000 Dude, what the hell are you talking about? And seriously, wth are you from?

  • @Mamibella828 You can't read!! You bitch! Spell 'Arab' correctly!!

Answer that one! You ugly Pizza face cunt!!

  • @jfiIes0000000 Oh yeah and I saw what you wrote about Americans, bitch please, you must be an arab or some shit, go bomb yourself.

  • @Mamibella828 You can't read!! You bitch! Spell 'Arab' correctly!!

Racist dog!! You have been reported to YouTube for your stinking racist HATE comments in this channel and in other channels!! You filthy TROLL!!

  • @Mamibella828 You don't understand because you're a fucking illiterate muppet bitch!! You brainless uneducated cunt!! Mamibella828 Hah!! I knew it all along! You're just another fucking racist piece of shit!! You have been reported to YouTube for your HATE comment!!

  • @Mamibella828

i'm cree native american and i am REALLY offended by this! the term "squaw" which they use is a REALLY racist term to natives. its equivalent to niggr. squaw means vagina in algonquin. and 'injun' is such an outdated racial slur. and native americans never acted like that. we actually had a language and we were quite knowledgeable.

  • @mallcraze wow, I'm so sorry, I honestly didn't know that :/ I didn't think they would actually put such an offensive term in a children's film.

  • Squaw no dance, Sqauw get 'em firewood!

  • i love the girl's little G-rated burlesque dance for peter. even ethnic CHILDREN know more sex apeal than most white people. :) jk

  • I love this movie soooo much! It's probably my favorite disney movie. Although reading about the life of Bobby Driscoll, the guy who voiced peter pan, will make me never look at this movie the same way again...O-O

Haha. Anywho, I love this song. :D

  • lol the mother-in-law thing made me laugh

and when peter pan turned cherry red...THAT WAS FUNNY!

  • Disney = the white men delusion

  • wow- 1:46- that chief is epic xD

i watched this last night- for the first time in, like, 8 years- this song actually made me cry- lol, nostalgic...

  • @mrsziggystarlet lmao that part is funny

  • i like peterpan, this seems like yet another injustice to the american indian from a greedy, colonialist "white man" (as a whole) who has depicted the "red man" as unsophisticaed, overall lacking, and savage. read malcolm x

  • what is name of this song?

  • Gotta say, I like TIger Lily a lot better then Wendy.

  • this is a bomb ass song.

  • Ward Kimball, Hal King, Don Lusk, and Ken O'Brien.

  • i think this is racist : theyre all caricatures

  • Keep in mind, this movie was made in the '40s. Everyone was sooo ignorant back then. Be happy that we're aware that this is racist and this is something we wouldn't do today

  • It was not made in the 40's, and people were not "ignorant" at the time. That's a lame excuse.

  • @levanyzzuf no because in the 1950's everything was dandy from a racial standpoint and we all understood each others cultures very well. There was actually never any ignorance at all.

  • @RGSMANIA my comment was made in response to someone who said that people in previous decades were stupid and that they couldn't be blamed for their prejudices because they did not possess enough information about other cultures to make informed decisions, which simply isn't true and lets people off the hook much too easily.

  • Comment removed

  • need I point out the obvious Nazi salute at 0:19 by the little boy & the regular 'how' by th chief a few seconds later.

But then again, Walt attended Nazi Party of America metings. So no suprise his racism was shown in many of his cartoons.

    Just blatant racism.

  • @EBanonymous

Haha, nazi salute? it does not look like it :P

  • Smetty@

U might think it's a joke, but white supremacy in the US in Grmany ar closly related

Hitler claimd to get inspiration from 2 sources 1) Armnian Genocid of 1915 & 2) What the US did to th Native Americans.

As for the salute, the Nazi Party of America was a national party before ww2 w/ hundereds of thousands in it. Disney was one of them.

What is the difference w/ the Germans & the US w/ its crimes? Blacks were being hangedup to that time (almost 4000)

U STILL have senator in kkk

  • I don't think disney draw that personaly... and the kid put his flat hand forward, the nazists didn't

  • @BeautifulDreamerK comments like this make me want to go and make a movie with EVERY STEREOTYPE IMAGINABLE. People are too damn touchy.

  • This coming form a guy whose Swiss People's Party who claim, "Swiss communities have a democratic right to decide who can or cannot be Swiss."

  • I love Tiger Lilly's dance it's sooo cool. And Tiger Lilly's mom trying to get Peter and Tiger Lilly to fall in love and sending Wendy away. It's funny.

  • Wait

THAT's what she was doing? And for that matter, how could you tell it was TL's mom? I would never have thought to make that connection at all.

  • Yea, why else would she do that? It was kind of, like, traditional for peoples parents like Peter and TL to try and get them to fall in love. The connection was made because she actually looks close to TL if you look super close.

  • This is like saying "What made the darky black?"

'Darky' is a slur & so is "redman" "injun" & "sqaw".

The "Indian Princess" is a common theme in colonialism. The attractive & intelligent woman who is smarter than her tribe & helps white men - especially to settle & be successful against her own tribe.

Examples: Sacagawea, Malinche w/ Cortes & Pochantis - (the 'heroes')

they're spoils of war: exploiting these women as sexual objects.

Dnacing for the white Pan is no inocent image; its deep

  • isn't redman a rapper too?

  • lol

  • @XNinjaHanzoX i think hes also i director too he was on seed of chucky i think
