I'd suggest you lower the mid frequency sounds in the equalizing of the toms, they sound a little boxy for my taste. That'll clean up the tone a little better. Just my opinion.
@lpjdrummer12295 actually they sound like that on this video because the bass was too high to make up for all the mids I had lowered. I fixed that already :)
@Craigy125 I did some eq and a very good tuning. I tune the top head to the note D and the bottom to a F#. The next time I change my heads i'll try to do a tuning video
@jacoboscar79 I plug all the mics on an interface that goes into my computer and edit the sound on a program called Sonar 8.5 :) But if you go to my latest drum cover on "I caught myself" by paramore you will hear a much better sound out of my drums on that cover :P
@danthegrimman well in the 80's the snares have a big amount of reverb on them. If you want to get that sound without any effects you have to tune your snare low and muffle it
@MEtaLLicAmachine nady DM80 and the head is a Remo Powerstroke 3. on this video I eqed the bass drum horribly. check out my latest video "from yesterday drum cover" so you can hear the drums eqed properly :)
i am getting some mics for my drums and one more thing, how can I make the bass drums sound the same cause I a little problem with that plus i am using remos on my drums
@jesse17ful to get that bass drum sound you take away lots of mids around 300. compression is something too complicated to explain through here but it basically evens out the sound waves so you can get a louder volume in the mix without clipping.
your not bad at drums man. actually your solid just keep in mind that fasters not always better and double bass isnt everything. dont get me wrong, double bass is a good thing just not all the time.
@whosthatdrummer I know that keeping a good groove and being creative/dinamic is much more important than playing fast. My main instrument is the guitar and I play different genres of music including jazz on the guitar. I need much more practice on the drums cause I've been playing drums for a year and 5 months. Thanks for the advise :)
@Firter that's because I took too much mids out from them when I EQed them. same happened with my bass drum. I'll be posting soon a new video doing a drum cover or something like that :)
@Bokee234 yeah. I kept working on that because I didn't like the sound. it sounded like triggers and... I hate that sound. I like a fuller, more punchier and meatier sound. So I'll keep working on that :)
i had an old account and commented on your powerstroke video a while ago but it got banned. I recently found you again and i have to say, you improved ALOT, your drums sound AMAZING, and you helped me choose the powerstroke, and its also amazing. keep it up
