Thurston and Lee were voted the 33rd and 34th best guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone. Make of that what you will, but I am sure glad Thurston does what he does.
@MistaaMojoRisin That's from the 2004 list. They redid it last year. The new list is garbage. Eddie Van Halen should not be in the top 10 but there he is at #8.
Thurston knows exactly what he is doing. It might seem like he is just fooling around but please keep in mind that he is the guitarist of an experimental rockband for 30 years know. The man surely can improvise and knows just how to create certain sounds with his guitar. I like his (and Sonic Youth's) non chord-bound and lack of following the basic guitar playing rules. Great performance, I think!
