@cjlowndes It's become a joke. A few weeks ago my friends dad was dropping him off at the station and he had to get out to shake my hand quickly. He left the door open, the engine was on and he was there for about 7 seconds. Some traffic warden comes along and fines him immedietly cause he was on double yellows. He wasn't even really parking. Twats. But other than that it's ok I guess
Thanks that brought back some happy memories. I've lived in Worthing all my life, I'm now well into my 40's) and in the summer my Mum used to pack me and a friend off with my Dad for the day so she could "get on" with housework etc. We often used to go to Peter Pan's (6d for my Dad, including a cup of tea) I I think the children got in either free or it was a very small charge), the boating lake and paddling pool. Happy days!
Thankyou so much, I still live in worthing and I wish worthing was still like this, I have lived here for 27 years, am only 30yrs old but my dad still tells me what worthing was like, I miss the way it used to be. Thanks once again x
thats amazing, i remember going on thos boats in the early 70s when i was about 6yo. sadly the boating lake is now just one great mess and theres talk of the whole lot inclueding the two pools being demolished, proberly to make way for flats..
anyway a really nice video, thanks for shareing....
One of my first memories is going to the paddling pool next to the Aquarena with my mother. In subsequent years I have paddled with both my daughter and grandchildren. Happy memories....Did the sun always shine then?
I mean, its ok now, its just a shame that everybody my age has such a bad reputation now, and loads of kids from Brighton come down and trash the place.
such a great vid,i grew up in worthing from early 70's and this is how i remember it,the shots next to peter pans are great, and your kids are well behaved too, unlike worthing kids today..
I am watching this from a place where there is no sound. Am I right in thinking that the accompanying music is wonderful world by that bloke with an even deeper voice than barry white??
at 1:27 i see a chopper bike..yep it's the 70's

Psychiclord - I was taking the piss. Worthing is the town that time forgot. If you still live their look around, it's a disgrace.

this was actually shot in 2007

I do not think so.......... I appear in this video as a child and am over 50 now!!! 1972 would be nearer the mark.

You are indeed right, but it is a singing free version, so no deep voice.
