  • wow

  • I live in Worthing!! Full of baby killers cleaning car by hand and tosser NCP tarffic wardens who can only see black and white

  • @cjlowndes who's the baby killers ?

NCP the people who care ...... about ££££££££ and nothing else SCUMMERS !

  • @cjlowndes It's become a joke. A few weeks ago my friends dad was dropping him off at the station and he had to get out to shake my hand quickly. He left the door open, the engine was on and he was there for about 7 seconds. Some traffic warden comes along and fines him immedietly cause he was on double yellows. He wasn't even really parking. Twats. But other than that it's ok I guess

  • Psychiclord - I was taking the piss. Worthing is the town that time forgot. If you still live their look around, it's a disgrace.

  • @racingeye i livee in worthingg...and i agree:/

  • This is a clearly dis·crim·i·na·to·ry video. Where's all the greasy WOG's?

  • this was actually shot in 2007

  • I do not think so.......... I appear in this video as a child and am over 50 now!!! 1972 would be nearer the mark.

  • :L they filled that boating up and grassed it over

  • they have filled the boating pool with soal and grass now for a picnic area its very nice ♥

  • Worthing sucks! LOL

  • Nice place. Not as developed or overcrowed as some seaside towns. There are also some lovely women there ;-)

  • I lived in Worthing my whole, and alot of the women are bunch of slags.

  • No success then ;-)

  • Npe :(

  • Try The Liquid Lounge, The Pier and Tides....hope you get lucky ;-)

  • Been there done that.

  • thats right lol - i know loads

  • A very charming little film. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. It brought back so many happy memories of family holidays of the past.

  • Thanks that brought back some happy memories. I've lived in Worthing all my life, I'm now well into my 40's) and in the summer my Mum used to pack me and a friend off with my Dad for the day so she could "get on" with housework etc. We often used to go to Peter Pan's (6d for my Dad, including a cup of tea) I I think the children got in either free or it was a very small charge), the boating lake and paddling pool. Happy days!

  • Thankyou so much, I still live in worthing and I wish worthing was still like this, I have lived here for 27 years, am only 30yrs old but my dad still tells me what worthing was like, I miss the way it used to be. Thanks once again x

  • oh thanks i lived there about 7 months ago our hosue was a new development so it sint there bt its changed

  • remember these boats, but have more vivid memories of the helter skelter at peter pan's playground. can feel the burn if you slid off the mat now.

  • that boating bond is just somehwere to go skateboarding now

  • thats amazing, i remember going on thos boats in the early 70s when i was about 6yo. sadly the boating lake is now just one great mess and theres talk of the whole lot inclueding the two pools being demolished, proberly to make way for flats..

anyway a really nice video, thanks for shareing....

  • One of my first memories is going to the paddling pool next to the Aquarena with my mother. In subsequent years I have paddled with both my daughter and grandchildren. Happy memories....Did the sun always shine then?

  • Very nice !

    Simpler times eh ? :-)

  • Hi

    Great video

About 30 seconds into the video the film shows a street and i was wondering if it is orme road?

love to know as its kept us wondering for some time.!

    Thanks

  • Hi there Yes it does show Orme Road. The film would have been shot in the early 70's maybe 1973 .

I know this because we moved from London in 1971 and I'm in the video Naughtyatforty is my cousin.

  • I live in lancing, Im 18

Spend alot of nights in worthing/brighton.

I enjoy this video. Its quite relaxing.

Its nice to know what it used to be like.

Its nice now, dont get me wrong.

    But, yeah :)

Not as good as it looks back then.

Whats happened to this damn country?

  • I am 13 and i live in worthing, my dad used to work at the aquarena back in the 80-90s. he said he remebers the paddle boats llol.

now all the lining in coming off the walls, from my dads info i would say that that video was from the earlie 70s :D

aparently there was an old beach hut were the aquarena was built on and now the aquarena is haunted  !, any more info ?? mail me

  • Shame the boating lake isn't active anymore. When is something gonna be done with that space?

  • I wish I could have seen Worthing back then

I mean, its ok now, its just a shame that everybody my age has such a bad reputation now, and loads of kids from Brighton come down and trash the place.

    Hm, Can't complain, I suppose

  • such a great vid,i grew up in worthing from early 70's and this is how i remember it,the shots next to peter pans are great, and your kids are well behaved too, unlike worthing kids today..

  • Really good video, well done!

  • Bring back the "good old days!"

  • I would guess that this is taken pre 1969 ie pre Aquarena monstrosity days. Lovely video. Thankyou for sharing.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. Wish I had more footage but that's it, I'm afraid. Thanks for commenting.

  • Hi there It was actually around 1973 as my Nan did not move down till around then and its her house we had tea in.

  • I am watching this from a place where there is no sound. Am I right in thinking that the accompanying music is wonderful world by that bloke with an even deeper voice than barry white??

  • You are indeed right, but it is a singing free version, so no deep voice.
