Ever.There are a few things where it can help with, if you're willing to spend an hour or two getting the right settings then another few hours to get used to it, and if you aren't used to using the mouse. This isn't even one of those things.
Instead, I control the cursor with the mouse and use mousekeys to click (clicking with mousekeys stops the herbs being dragged)
I think you can get banned for this because you click so fast they Jagex might think you are autoclicking and if this still works I wouldn't really care for the profits, just the idea of getting herblore xp without losing money is goood :P

I'm currently cleaning ranarrs for as long as I can then im going to do all different herbs in just over an hour ive gone from 38-50 herblore, i know that isnt a lot but the xp an hour i worked out is about 40-50k which is fine for me since its a low herb and i did mining at about that rate
1. lantadymes require 67 herb. This method can work for much lower herbs than that though (although less xp)
2. No I'm not maxed out, and that's an old bank (actually my bank is worth very little nowadays - got scammed by a "friend" out of most and gave away much of the rest). Nor will I ever max out.
3. Pots are much easier, give faster xp, and many people make pots for personal use too (esp at high levels with extremes etc.)
@terrorboy007 dude 100k xp isnt slow as fuck theres only a total of like 5 skills that u can max 100k xp p/h plus its more at the most 40k xp p/h and i agree its annoyin but if 100 xp an hour is slow then it would take 130 hours to get 99 on that and 18 of the skills take 250 hours plus to get 99
@TrollOfRS this is 100k xp per hour, although the vid itself only looks like around 80k because it slowed itself down for some weird reason that I've never figured out (none of my other vids have done that). Even so, if you are only getting 15-20k xp per hour you are going really really slow (or doing really low level herbs and just going slow)
@samoankings1994 what herbs make a profit and what dont change not just from day to day but from hour to hour. The profit margins have dropped since this video was made, meaning that, although a profit can still be made quite easily, it becomes easier for a herb to drop into making a loss. The best method of deciding whether or not something works is to try a small number. But even if you make a loss it would be about a fifth of the cost of making potions at worst. (do NOT do Wergali)
If I may be honest, you are quite slow at cleaning these. You should be using the 5 and + buttons, since you're using mousekeys. This would make things works so much faster, so long as you keep the mouse moving. Most people are OCD, "OMG! I didn't clean every herb!" You generally won't clean as many per inventory as you displayed in this video. On the other hand, faster inventories of 22-24 herbs would turn out a faster clean rate than slower inventories of 26-28. I maxed 13.4k/hr.
@665almostevil666 A few points to make - firstly, the speed you claim to have maxed at wasnt even physically possible when I made this video (due to game restrictions that have since been removed). Secondly, I wasn't using the fast banking method as I didn't know of it at the time, and as far as I know the method for resizing your game screen wasnt even known at the time, both of which ccan give significant speed boosts (about 10% each)
@665almostevil666 having said that, I do acknowledge that this video is not the max speed for cleaning herbs, nor the max speed I have done. It isn't meant to be either. I do videos that are supposed to represent what most people can average, not the max rate that can be obtained.

@nmulder22 At the time I did this it was 350k profit per hour (it says so in the description). It can vary though - sometimes no herbs make more than about 200k per hour, other times you can make millions.

@shelldude400 the biggest downside is that you lose flexibility. At a high level of herblore you can just switch to whatever herb is working at the time. Most herbs work sometimes though, including the lower level ones. When I was doing this a lot I actually found that irit worked more often than any other herb, which you just about have the level to do. So yes it does work. Just you won't be able to rely on it always working at that level.
@iiahmad How would they help? If you mean mouse keys, I am using them to click. It really isnt worth doing it to move the mouse though as the Ctrl + 2 does not move your mouse down exactly the right amount - you can only clean 6 herbs in a column if you dont use the mouse, and it is rather awkward to position the mouse so that you can do even that. You COULD do the method of using both mousekeys and mouse but that is not easy and really isnt worth it.
@quynguyen14 that depends how fast you are. I usually get around 90k per hour but I have got 55k in 30 mins before now, and it is possible to get a lot more than that.

However, any that you do manage to buy (even at max) will likely return you a profit - at least if you wait for the ge to update its prices before selling.
So whatever you can get your hands on. I would advise you to stay away from guam and marrentil though,
I am currently 91 herblore. My xp per hour depends on what method I am using. With herb cleaning, as I said before, 5-6k herbs per hour is standard and fairly easy to do (though all herb cleaning tires your fingers after a while). The vid shows faster than this.
remember that you can clean 5-6k herbs per hour - so a 100gp profit per herb cleaned would be 500k-600k per hour.
Of course you won't always be able to buy/sell at mid - sometimes you will get a better offer, others you will get worse. Which is why I recommend that you try a few of each first before deciding what to do to maximise profit or a profit/xp balance.
unless of course you are including a time valuation, in which case you would have to value your time at over 3mil gp per hour to make extreme mage pots more efficient than lant cleaning at current prices (wergali ignored as it is hard to buy)

Move the mouse and spam press the 5 and/or + key on the numberpad as you do. Move the mouse in a regular pattern - the one I did in the video is good.
The speed in the video is actually about 10% slower than real time - for some inexplicable reason it got slowed down while recording onto my computer.
Remember - higher level herbs give more xp - I am doing lantadymes in this video which is one of the highest level herb there is.
With Lantadyme the theoretical maximum xp rate per hour is about 143k. In practice though it is almost impossible to get more than 120k per hour, and you are doing reasonably well if you can sustain 90k xp per hour in the long term. My average is slightly above 85k.
Also, keep cleaning if you miss one - watching for missed herbs and going back slows you down a LOT
I was buying at max (at about 1500 herbs per hour but that is irrelevant for your speed over time as the time you aren't cleaning you can do other stuff while they buy) at selling instantly at max for about a 600gp profit each.
Grimy herbs are selling really slowly at the moment because there is such a huge gap between grimy and clean. This means that every herb merchant in the world is buying grimy lantadyme, thus making them hard to buy. A super huge profit isn't necessarily a good thing.
I bought about 16k of them yesterday and am cleaning them right now (or 5 mins ago anyway). They are selling at mid at about the same rate as I can clean them, which is well enough.
lol no I didn't - I go 1k - 2k - 5k - 10k - 18k - 32k - 54k - 100k - 180k etc. Course it probably never will reach the higher ones of those but I included them anyway to show the general principle more clearly.

Yes the only mouse key I am using in this video is the 5 - If I was going at that speed using the mouse to click I would drag the herbs instead of cleaning them, which is why I use mouse keys.
the only thing that is a hassle with this method, is that at your speed you avg7-8K an hr, and for 8k lantadymes its about 16m. so it would be diffcult to do this method for multiple hours unless your very wealthy. but i still believe this is the best method.

Not always. Plus when the grimy herbs are slightly more expensive can be (note: CAN be) the best time to do them - as you can often buy the grimy herbs at well below mid and sell the clean ones at well above mid, making a very good profit.
That's why you should test a few first and keep an eye on the prices.

I am currently 91 herblore. My xp per hour depends on what method I am using. With herb cleaning, as I said before, 5-6k herbs per hour is standard and fairly easy to do (though all herb cleaning tires your fingers after a while). The vid shows faster than this.
6k lantadyme in an hour is 78.6k xp per hour.

remember that you can clean 5-6k herbs per hour - so a 100gp profit per herb cleaned would be 500k-600k per hour.
Of course you won't always be able to buy/sell at mid - sometimes you will get a better offer, others you will get worse. Which is why I recommend that you try a few of each first before deciding what to do to maximise profit or a profit/xp balance.

unless of course you are including a time valuation, in which case you would have to value your time at over 3mil gp per hour to make extreme mage pots more efficient than lant cleaning at current prices (wergali ignored as it is hard to buy)

Excellent! I've been training herblore by way of serum 207, and I recently thought that there had to be a better way, and, this is it. I'm 74 herblore as well, and I just bought 10k grimy lantadymes. We'll see how it goes :P RSN:Forlorn_Tank

NIce video, can u help me please? i am 38 herblore and need 70 fast but cheap cause it will cost me 20m to get 70 herblore with prayer pots.. so do you think it would be worth it clean Toadflax? I need to clean 88k of them, how many herbs can u clean/hour? and ill get 6m profit. Please answer, 5/5 and subbed

5-6k herbs is normal. 7-8k can be done on a good day. In the vid was a rate of 7.3k, though it shows it as if it was 6.5k

I don't fail. If you lost a significant amount of money it's your fault and that also means you didn't pay attention to what I said in the video.
This method still works just as well as it did, the herblore market is just as volatile as it always has been.
Please do not blame me for your own failings.

Move the mouse and spam press the 5 and/or + key on the numberpad as you do. Move the mouse in a regular pattern - the one I did in the video is good.

The speed in the video is actually about 10% slower than real time - for some inexplicable reason it got slowed down while recording onto my computer.

This isn't really 100k xp per hour...is it?
When i did it, i believe i was getting about 30k xp per hour, and yes i was using mousekeys.

Remember - higher level herbs give more xp - I am doing lantadymes in this video which is one of the highest level herb there is.
With Lantadyme the theoretical maximum xp rate per hour is about 143k. In practice though it is almost impossible to get more than 120k per hour, and you are doing reasonably well if you can sustain 90k xp per hour in the long term. My average is slightly above 85k.
Also, keep cleaning if you miss one - watching for missed herbs and going back slows you down a LOT

The wrists generally don't hurt much. If you don't vary the finger you use to click with though that can start to ache after a while.

I once had cadantine making over 5mil per hour :p
I was buying at max (at about 1500 herbs per hour but that is irrelevant for your speed over time as the time you aren't cleaning you can do other stuff while they buy) at selling instantly at max for about a 600gp profit each.
That only happened that one time though.

Grimy herbs are selling really slowly at the moment because there is such a huge gap between grimy and clean. This means that every herb merchant in the world is buying grimy lantadyme, thus making them hard to buy. A super huge profit isn't necessarily a good thing.
I bought about 16k of them yesterday and am cleaning them right now (or 5 mins ago anyway). They are selling at mid at about the same rate as I can clean them, which is well enough.

lol no I didn't - I go 1k - 2k - 5k - 10k - 18k - 32k - 54k - 100k - 180k etc. Course it probably never will reach the higher ones of those but I included them anyway to show the general principle more clearly.

Yes. You have to move the cursor (mouse) too though. And if you kept clicking while you were trying to bank you could find yourself running off to goodness knows where :p

Yes the only mouse key I am using in this video is the 5 - If I was going at that speed using the mouse to click I would drag the herbs instead of cleaning them, which is why I use mouse keys.

the only thing that is a hassle with this method, is that at your speed you avg7-8K an hr, and for 8k lantadymes its about 16m. so it would be diffcult to do this method for multiple hours unless your very wealthy. but i still believe this is the best method.

Not always. Plus when the grimy herbs are slightly more expensive can be (note: CAN be) the best time to do them - as you can often buy the grimy herbs at well below mid and sell the clean ones at well above mid, making a very good profit.
That's why you should test a few first and keep an eye on the prices.

How come when I use 5 to click with the mousekeys it stops and I have to release 2 or 8 or 4 or 6 and hold it down again? How can I stop that?
And when I start holding it down it takes awhile to get as fast as yours.

Err... the way I do it I use the mouse to move the cursor and spam click with the 5 key.
I don't really understand what you are saying - you shouldn't be holding anything down.
