Morales was a great fighter, one of my favourite of the last few years. But his comeback fights have been pretty telling as far as his current skill goes... he was a great boxer and if this was 3-4 years ago i'd say Morales could outwork Maidana if he keeps away from those big shots, but now? I don't think Morales has what it takes to hold Maidana's onslaught off whilst still managing to win rounds.

Morales didn't pick this fight, DLH did, Marquez pulled out because he's got plans to leave GB after his contract runs out, that'll leave him as a free agent and more likely to get a 3rd shot at Pac, DLH had to replace him with a viable opponent for the Wright/Macklin undercard, so why not give Maidana a tune up for the likely fight he'll get with Alexander? DLH just see's Morales as a stepping stone for Maidana, like Baldomir was to Alvarez.
