This is based on Stephen King's short story called "The Body", only when it came to making the movie the Director changed it the title to "Stand By Me" because he said in an interview at the time, it also describes the way the four boys stand together throughout the movie.

@ktriplet river phoenix played chris chambers in the film. he was an amazing, amazing person and cared so much about the world around him. unfortunately he died from a drug overdose in 1993 when he was 23 years old. he was such a special person and had a very promising life/career ahead of him, it's too bad </3

@MJBaby33 yah he died on the morning of oct 31 1993 outside the viper room of a accidentall drug over dose. also do u no his brother in the movie eyeball chambers (bradley gregg) well they were really close friends and he was supposed to go to his youngest sons b-day party on oct 30 but cancelled at the last min and i swear if he had gone to that b-day party of his friends youngest son then he probly wouldnt have died... R.I.P river phoenix u will always be loved and missed! ♥♥♥
