  • pyrocumulonimbus convection

  • @crin64 Indeed - pretty fascinating to watch and film :-) Thanks for checking it out!

  • Поздравления станали са много добре всички кадри.

  • Woahh!! I liked it a lot!!!!

  • It's odd how posts sometimes seem to go into space... You must have quite an experience where you were... The plumes were spectacular from here (as you can see) but the smoke never came over this area, so I consider us lucky in that respect! Thanks for stopping by =)

  • Absolutely beautiful footage.

  • Thanks so much for the view and kind words - I'm glad you enjoyed the show =)

  • This compilation is great! ))

  • Glad you enjoyed this one - thanks so much for watching! =)

  • @TaylorSwiftFan190 you typed it, because there's a cocaroach under a prison cell bed waiting to eat out your brains

  • Earth is amazing, Its details will never colaps

  • can I use this clip for making a music video?

  • So long as it's not for commercial/money-making purposes, I do allow allow free use of nearly all my material by other video makers for YouTube/music vid and such... There are links in my channel description to the full free use policy on my website - have a look and see if it fits with your needs... If so, please feel free to use all you like. Feel free to send me a PM if you have additional questions/needs not covered int he FAQ :-)

  • interesing , shame about the ad

  • Yea, the ads can be a pain... fortunately, the overlays can be minimized for a mostly ad-free experience. Those skippable pre-roll ones aren't too bad either - especially when they're about something interesting! XD Thanks for stopping by!

  • Wow the cloud formations under time lapse look amazing Awesome work :)

  • This was most impressive to see in realtime, too - these smoke plumes were really huge! Thanks for stopping by and the kind words =)

  • Ohh this is just powerful and grand. The universe is not in our hands! Nature rules' Like Billows of mashed potato cloud waves!!!

  • You can definitely see a LOT of interesting shapes and movements in smoke and rain clouds - especially the really big ones... they can be impressive indeed =) Thanks so much for visiting!

  • Cloud formations makes us realize that there is a Creator To believe in to greatness of God

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • @Muslima198 bullshit

  • @Muslima198

    indeed.

  • What did smokey tell you about forest fires? haha

  • In this case it was arson - and it would have been good if ol' Smokey Bear was around to beat the crap out of those arsonists with his shovel! XD

  • looks like big cumulus growing

  • You're right - fire plume generated clouds like these are known as "pyro-cumulus", and act very much like "normal" cumulus and cumulonimbus. Water vapor is one of the componants of combustion, and when combined with the fire-produced ash/particulates and cooled rapidly at high altitude, it condenses to form the clouds. In extreme cases, the friction of the particles in the cold, dry air aloft can also generate lightning, as I understand this fire did at times. Thanks for stopping by! =)

  • man bro...this is fantastic!

  • VERY COOL! An amazing event, well documented and a great dedication.

  • This was really a spectacular sight which lasted for several days... it was fairly close and it was hard NOT to get remarkable footage. Too bad it had to have such negative consequences in so many other ways. Anyway - glad you enjoyed the show! =)

  • @jcmegabyte Right on. I seen some fires from Mount Soledad in San Diego. Yeah so true. I was not in SD in one of their worse fires I think Oct 2007. Yeah awesome work !

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • holy shit dude that was amazing

  • Glad you like it - thanks so much for stopping by and the nice comment! :-)

  • very nice video!

  • Thanks for the view and nice comment :-) I'm glad you enjoyed!

  • that was fantastic, I loved it

  • Thanks so much for watching and the kind words! Cheers! =)

  • beautiful video, but the music made me stop watching it half way through

  • wooooah what a shocking footage.

  • Thanks for checking it out! =D

  • It gets really strange after 4:18.

  • is this smoke???

  • @mr0loki0jr Yes.

  • @JanetUSA (..)holysmoke you mean holysmoke....

  • Most of the clouds shown are smoke clouds from the fire. The big billowing white towers which look like thunderclouds are known as "pyrocumulus" and act similar to cumulonimbus. I have heard of thunder and lightning being spawned by these clouds, but have never experienced it myself. At the vid beginning there is a mix of natural clouds and smoke clouds. In some scenes, the pyrocumulus clouds go so high that they actually push up the cirrus high cloud layers above them. Amazing sights!

  • Wooooooooaaaaah *_*

  • Thanks for visiting! =)

  • @jcmegabyte Just told my opinion^^

  • Makes u really think about life and how fragile it it

  • That's for sure - this isn't the sort of thing you want to get caught in! :-O

  • Tu blog de TimeLapse: colapsados . com

  • amazing views!!

  • I'm happy you liked the show - thanks for visiting! =)

  • wow

  • Thanks so much for stopping by :-)

  • awesome!!!!

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • Beautiful, too bad these are smoke clouds from the burning centuries old trees ... makes me sad ...

  • Yea, that's the thing about many natural events - life and death, beauty and destruction... All part of the plan I guess.. :-)

  • @jcmegabyte I think it was the work of a human being. Not someone's plan.

  • You're right - this fire was started by an arsonist, and I never heard if they ever caught the perp or not. My loose reference to "the plan" was more aimed at how some forces in nature, once initiated (by whatever means; arson, lightning strike, etc.), can be destructive as well as beautiful, and are ultimately part of the natural cycle of things; life and death, destruction and rebirth, etc. Sorry for the confusion! :-)

  • @jcmegabyte I'm a little sensitive I guess. But I know what you mean. Like the fires in AZ were really part of a natural cycle.

  • great!!!!!

  • Thanks! =)

  • Something special

  • Thanks so much! :-)

  • i love clouds. thanks for sharing.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the show - thanks so much for visiting! :-)

  • clouds !!

    so beautiful

Times change in the video - just super

  • Beautiful ... Thank you

  • I'm glad you enjoyed - thanks for the view and nice comment! =)

  • mask the black out... and u got a sickkk explosion effect

  • I'm waiting to see someone do something like that with these clips in AfterEffects or some similar program... Could be a cool show! =)

  • Mother Natures Awesome..

  • Indeed! Thanks so much for watching =)

  • Just Awesome :)

  • Thanks for watching! :-)

  • By the way...do you prefer stills or video for timelapse..I noticed you mentioned that you used both to compile the vid. I was thinking that timelapse stills have a massive impact on the shutter life of a camera, whereas the camcorder doesn't. But the camcorder file would I expect to be enormous and possible wouldn't have the duration that you sometimes are looking for in timelapse.

    Cheers...Gary - Australia.

  • Thanks for the view and great comments! =) I definitely prefer stills. I can shoot oversize and crop/downscale, and the clarity is better without inter-frame compression. Video files run huge with limited recording time like you mentioned, but my DSC was busy with wide-angle shots so I used video for the short zoomed bits. DSLR shutter MTBF (100k frames) is definitely an issue. Even my S5 shutter finally died (after 1.1 million frames!), but was repaired and is now back in service! :-)

  • Just gotten into timelapse and your vid is inspirational...beautifully edited and synched to the soundtrack. Most people don't know the investment in time and effort and planning to produce this outcome...well done and hopefully we will see more of your work. Gary - Australia.

  • Wow, awesome video!

    Congratulations!

    greetings from Argentina!

  • Seriously ... WOW ... a lovely bit of footage with a perfectly matched soundtrack ... well done!

  • Thanks so much for the view and great comment! I'm happy you enjoyed the show =)

  • Great!

  • Thanks so much! :-)

  • What the fuck does this have to do with Beiber, FFS. People who mention him are more annoying THAN him, and that's a lot to say.

  • cock

  • in th begining it looked like fireballs from the sky!

  • That was a very erie-looking morning - natural cumulus mixed with smoke plume and lit by the sun from the opposite side. Thanks for checking it out! =)

  • Honour to the firefighters!

  • Definitely! Thanks for watching :-)

  • VOUS EXCELLEZ DANS LES NUAGES !!!

  • Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching! :-)

  • In Nature, there is "Constant beauty"...We only have to seek , and hopefully find it...

  • Indeed there are many amazing scenes in nature all around us - we have only to take the time to notice :-)

  • Wow, ...speechless.

Tragedy never looked so amazing. High speed destruction in HD.

This was almost a study in fluid dynamics. I would love to own a copy of this.

    Music:

The music was great for it's simplicity. I could appreciate the playful improvised bouncing piano with the delay effect b/c I play the same way sometimes.

The piano and pads really complemented this video.

  • Thanks for the great comment! Besides the sheer visual spectacle of these scenes - the physics involved are awe-inspiring as well Thanks for the kinds words regarding the music, too. It was basically a sit-down-and-make-up-something type of event, recorded in one shot :-)

  • Werter User,

ein phantastisches Video, zegt es doch die Kraft der Natur, die auch ein Segelflieger nutzt, um lange Strecken ohne Motor fliegen zu können.

    Gruß Charly

  • Thanks again for visiting and the nice comment! Cheers! =)

  • truly awesome, these formations are rarely seen like this and you have really brought them alive, such beauty from such devestation,im glad i found your channel and also a fellow natural phenomenon lover, there does not seem to be enough people who truly appreciate whats around them let alone look up every now and then, fantastic work as usual , and thanks for the share :)

  • Thanks so much for the great comment! This was truly a spectacle that was not easly missed, as it covered nearly the entire eastern sky from my viewpoint. The time lapse really helps show what's going on as it didn't seem like much was much motion in realtime. Fascinating stuff, nature! =)

  • great video true legend

  • Thanks so much for the view and great comment! Cheers! =)

  • Ou love part what starts 0:30

OMG I LOVE THIS VID! so awosme , i CAN`T something like that I see first time. I am cloud lover. :D

    really great. subscribe. :)

  • Thanks so much for the view and great comment :-) I have always been fascinated by clouds too, and the atmosphere in general. Glad you enjoyed the show - cheers! :-)

  • Go biking by the burned area; no more trees left T_T

  • Yea, it's pretty sad to see right after the fire - there's not much left. On the brighter side, there will be a LOT of new growth within a few years, which couldn't happen in an old-growth ecosystem choked with underbrush, such as happens in these un-naturally fire-suppressed areas. Hard to tell which is worse - occasional natural fires, or rarer long-term devastating ones...

  • @jcmegabyte Yeah, but still, many of those trees had been there for hundreds of years. Its gonna take a while to regrow. Don't think I'm gonna go camping there for a while.

  • MAY WE NEVER HAVE TO ENDORE ANOTHER FIRE THAT BAD AGAIN, AND HERES TO THE 2 FIREFIGHTERS WHO LOST THERE LIVES TO THE STATION FIRE

  • Indeed! Thanks for watching and commenting...

  • @jcmegabyte no problem, i was in victorville when the fire was going, and there were days that i couldnt even go outside the smoke was so bad, but you did a great job on captureing the beautiful side of it, standing ovation and is already in my faves.

  • Thats beautiful :)

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • This video inspired me. I'm going to try that too.

    GREAT WORK!!

  • Thanks for the great comment! Be sure and send me a link to your finished work - I'd like to see it :-)

  • I have crispation .... BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed :-)

  • So glad you enjoyed this one - thanks for the view and kind words! I hope you have a nice weekend, too! :-)

  • clouds timelapse

  • Yep - Pyro-Cumulus mostly :-) Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • I like natural clouds as featured in this

  • These pyro-cumulus are fascinating. Even though this fire was started by an arsonist (it could just as easily been started by lightning), once it was burning, nature takes its course and the natural show was quite spectacular, although also very destructive. Such is nature though...

  • @jcmegabyte Yes, I have sceen some of these clouds here after a storm. It was beautiful, It was an orange color color. I have it on camera and will soon include it in one one of my videos.

  • Beautiful video......such a sad event! Thank you for sharing!

  • Sad indeed - amazing how something so spectacular can also be so destructive. Thanks for the view and kinds words :-)

  • davvero spettacolare

    really expectacular!

  • They can really put on a show sometimes - thanks for watching! :-)

  • Music & image = beauty! Thanks for your effort and sensitivity.

  • So glad you enjoyed this one - thanks for the visit and kind words! :-)

  • This compilation represents about 4-5 days of filming various time lapse and realtime clips. There are many more, but this represents some of the best footage I recorded. Thanks for watching and commenting! =)

  • Amazing work. The pyro-cumulus was something else to watch in time lapse.

  • Thanks so much for watching and commenting! =)

  • Magnifique ce panache et en même temps quel malheur ce désastre !

  • Thanks so much! =)

  • This is so beautiful.I love it.

5***** and a big Favorite for me.

    Greetings from Germany

    xx Tina

  • Thanks so much Tina! So glad you enjoyed :-)

  • Amazing...so terrible, and yet so beautiful!

  • Indeed that does seem to be the way of nature! Thanks so much for watching!

  • It's amazing to watch the plume rise and then get sucked back down due to the cooling of the air. Very impressive. So sorry about its impact on people...

  • Amazing how nature can be so fascinating, beautiful and destructive at the same time. Thanks so much for the view and great comment! =

  • Those clouds are beautiful.

  • Thanks so much for watching! :-)

  • WONDERFULL

    great music..really I love.

    bravo

  • Thanks so much for the visit and great comment! Cheers! =)

  • I absolutely love how you make these time lapses so nicely that I can see nature in a whole different way.

Thank you so much and please continue making videos.

One question: Do you travel the world for these or do you film in the same general region?

  • Thanks for the great comment - glad to hear you're enjoying my creations! :-) Most of my filming is done right from my own back yard, although I do travel around my region a bit too - generally within 50 miles or so.

  • This is GREAT!!!!!!
