In the southern part of Europe (ex Greece) and in the Middle East + Turkey + Kurdistan they dance men and men, women and women. . In Scandiinavia we don't have this issue. We teach our girls and boys the difference between dance and sex!
Can anybody indicate me any book (of demoanthropological "substance") about this dance? I'm an italian anthropology undergraduate and I'd really like to know more about Hallingspringar (perhaps in the offing of an exhaustive research about it). Thanky you for reading -and sorry for my english-
There is not really any book about this dance, but there is a book about folk music and dance from the region(Hallingdal) that is called "det tilla og det læt"(1999) by Paul Breiehagen
The dance is called Hallingspringar -- a springar from the Hallingdal region of Norway. These two dancers are considered Class A / Master Class dancers in Norway.
vi hadde nettopp tidenes nachspiel tel den her te denna musikken :D 2 deltakera, tidenes artigste nachspiel! :D nu har vi spent hatten av stokken 102349 ganga, hahahaaah like arti kver gang
Actually, these older dances and tunes are very sophisticated in their rhythms and form. Those peasants may not have been as "simple" as most people think. :-)
Jag är så stolt att vara svensk, vi har liknande danser i Sverige. -. I'm so proud of being Sweish! We have the same dance trfadition in Sweden!

a springar is a "runner" in old norse so I guess that the music and the dance reflects the horse aswell as running

That was amazing. It really is gentle to dance like that. I wish I could even stand as much as that without being dizzy. :3

Just great .
Imagine a past, of folklore art and dance and unsophisticated, isolated countryside pleasures.
Marvellous.
