oh. my. gosh. i would've thought that this was a pro film if i hadn't read the other comments. this is the first of your vids that i randomly stumbled apon and i love it. that's the most convincing mermaid i've ever seen, including the one from the movie.... I think the tail was made for appearance more than function. If you want a functioning mermaid tail, you can't use plastic and foam...but it looks good, though. The jewels looked pretty, too :P I wish I had a secret rock full of thousands of dollars worth of gems!

@mermaidanna1 I used a flexible plastic base and then I put some foam over the top to give it shape rather than being completely flat.
