@rmac2846 it depends, the more expensive they are the better, gas usually shoot harder but can have WAY more problems (not always the case) electric can shoot hard too but really high quality, fast, hard shooting guns start at about 250-300 (dollars I'm American) but that doesn't mean u can't get a good gun for 100 bucks (infact I'm ordering the jg g36c g608 for 120 off of amazon [(steal and there are different upgraded versions too but I'm on a budget)]

In the UK airsoft silencers can have foam inside them unlike say the US which does actually provide a noise reduction albeit and negligible one on most guns. Non blowback pistols and spring rifles the difference is surprisingly good.

Airsoft guns fire 6mm plastic pellets. They are safe to shoot at other people. BB guns are potentially very dangerous if shot at other people.
