  • Damn, Colin! First time I heard a Back Door record was some 35 years ago and I was blown away..... but you've even gotten better!!!

  • oh, one of my favorite bass players... alas, he is forgotten, but he remains a genius!

thank you, so i don't forget i know good music ;-)

  • Absolutely wicked. I cant get enough of this piece.

  • Here we have the great Colin Hodgkinson oh yeah .........

  • Just amazing that's all, beautiful! thanks for posting !

  • Jimmy Hendrix was the Colin Hodgkinson of Electric guitar.

  • for any bass players just starting off out there, if anyone ever says "oh bass is an easy instrument to play" then show them this video and say "go on then".

  • hahaha

    excellent comment mate

  • Its true! Cheers man.

  • Human and musically. Simply great! My warmest thanks to the great Colin Hodgkinson.........

  • Warm-hearted music for a cold January afternoon. Just received the CD from Cultural Foundation - perfection.

  • absolute legend

  • Bomber Hodgkinson should be given the personal equivalent of listed building status.

  • doesn't matter who he plays with ... i've seen him with Whitesnake , Alexis Korner, Pete York/ Brian Auger/ Spencer Davis & Chris Farlowe & he IS the master

  • Legend! Used to see him walking the dog every day in my village, wish I knew how good he was back then. Anyone know if any of these solo pieces he does have been tabbed? I'm giving bits a go but can't find it anywhere.

  • He does have a tab book, but it's damn near impossible to get hold of. I managed to pick mine up on the German eBay and had to converse with the seller through a German-speaking friend of mine! Good luck!

  • Hmm, seems pretty darn hard indeed. I think i might have more luck going back to my old village and see if I can find him!

  • I first saw Colin Hodgkinson in the Falcon pub Peterborough UK 1974. He just blew me away, no one plays quite like Colin.

    The man is a genius.

  • Colin Hodgkinson is still turning out awesome bass performances after all these years.Absolutly brilliant, stunning and unique.
