"Within the limits of the area from a horizontal line at the base of the acromion down to a horizontal line at the iliac crest, attack by fist and foot techniques are permitted. However, such attacks shall not be made on the part of the back not covered by the trunk protector."
Although I this was taken from a site written in 2006.
I would like some insight here: Why would anyone think that he would actually attack them and fall for the feint? As you can see, the feint is 'targetted' to the back of the opponent, w/c in taekwondo sparrings, is not a target.
'the feint' is not "targeted" as it is a switch not a kick but all three techniques, opponents kick, switch, and teachers kick are targeted to the stomach which is on the front.......but i think to answer your question, this setup answers the question...."what do I do when every time i switch, he kicks me in the stomach?"
I'm kinda disappointed though that people thumbed me down for just trying to know more info about this move. People should be more open to people that question stuff rather than accepting everything that is fed to them.
its strange that 20 years ago, the people doing mma/bjj/kickboxing instead of tkd/karate were the people with an open mind. nowadays, its the other way around.
tkd isnt my favorite ma, but it does have a lot of useful stuff
We call this checking. You have to do this before attacking. People who just attack without checking do not know how to setup their attacks and will always lose. You must check your opponent and attack off of the check.
This is basic and should be one of the first things taught when learning to compete.
But honestly Korean teachers are the best even though their English is limited. Good thing that my teacher has his son or daughter to translate for him at times. But he is getting better with his English.
This guy has amazing strategies. Kinda reminds me of my wrestling coach in his emphasis on set-ups. But those things look nice, and it's just simple moves to attack.
There just aren't a whole lot of videos of scorring techniques in taekwondo on youtube. It's a sport, there should be a lot of emphasis on competition. Good thing Sang H. Kim exists.

The back is a target. Just not the spine. Read up on the new rules.

Yeah, you're right.

I think you are right about "what do I do when every time i switch, he kicks me in the stomach?" .
The video just makes it look like as if I'm supposed to feint a kick(to the back f the opponent) and not a switch.
Thanks :)
