  • I love the idea! Thanks

  • I love this style. It's simple and easy to do. I did it in 5 minutes and simply love it.

  • I just wanted to know your take on cutting/styling your dreads into a bob like style? can you message me? thank you !

  • Well, my locks are very long and this doesn't work for them. Do you have any options? My locks are about 80 cm long...

  • it s very easy i have shoter hair then and it worked

  • man love that! imma try it

  • I love your styles...classy!

  • Loved it!

  • @mirella99 that's the beauty of this hairstyle! it's really easy, but it looks really classy and professional. obviously not everyone is as proficient as you are so tutorials like this can inspire and show people how easy it can be to style your hair. if you check out my chescalocs channel you will see a large variety of styles at varying skill levels. thanks for watching!

  • love it! thanx for the ideas!

  • it's really pretty and classy looking! not a lot of work either! thank you, i will be wearing this one on a regular! :)

  • Nice:)

  • thats nice

  • thats nice

  • Girl and folks say locs are not professional. With a bun it looks so lovely and classy. Gives a simple bun a more glammed look

  • Really simple. That's going on my list of styles for when my locs get longer.

P.S. - the background music reminds me of Blues Clues #just saying

  • Cool! But all your hairstyles are the same as from binosusume. THIS IS NOT TO BRING YOU DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a fact. Anyway. Cool vids. Love your hair!

  • @softijsje13 never heard of binosusume

  • @softijsje13 from what ive seen most of binosusume's styles posted over the last year, ms chesca's styles have been posted for at least 2 years. whose biting who?

  • My locs are small but I love the fact that yours aren't itty-bitty and they still look gorgeous on you. Thanks for the tutorial. I'll try this tomorrow morning.

  • thats real perty

  • As usual, love, love , love the styles!!!!

  • I LOVE IT...I ALWAYS WEAR MY HAIR IN A BUN BUT I REALLY LOVE THE WAY YOU DO YOURS....IM GONNA TRY IT OUT! THANKS

  • thank you foryour video.I need more hairstyles in my dreadlockin life.

  • thank you.

  • ^_^v

    love this

  • I like it! But I don't have a hair net. Thanks!

  • Do you think this can be done with single twists rather than locs (for those of us who don't have locs)?

  • of course! it's just a simple bun! you don't need locs for this style

  • yeah, i like this style too! but more lighting next time. its a cute, easy and elegant style for date night with hubby

  • i'm going to reupload this video on my new chescalocs channel and edit it so it's not so dark. sorry about that!

  • Thanks for the video. There needs to be more lighting.

  • sorry about that! i'm going to re-upload this video on my new chescalocs channel and adjust the levels so it's not so dark

  • That was quick and easy. Next time I'm going out, I'm definitely doing that one.

  • What is this music? It's wicked!!

  • i think it's called slow bass grooves. check the vid description for the link :)

  • yikes! sorry i missed that...i actually looked for it too! kooky...

  • Chesca, you are so great! I love your vids, and your hair is amazing! I consider chopping my own set REGULARLY, but your vids always keep me hanging in there! Thanx. Keep it up!

p.s. your quite pretty as well

  • thank you thank you!

  • Stunning hairstyle! And I love your dreadlocks!

  • Thank you so much for the video. However, it is hard to really see your hair because of the dark background. I still get the point and appreciate your time. :-)

  • I like this style. I just have a question: how is it possible with shorter hair? You said it works with all lengths. I have barely shoulder length.

  • if you can put your hair into a pony tail you should be able to make it work :)

  • Wow, that was super fast!!! Thanks :-)

  • i try to get back to everyone as often as possible

  • I going to try it this weekend and I will let you know how it turns out..But I have another question my hair gets soo hard it that normal..I been outting shea butter conditioner and oil in it

  • how old are your locs? and how thick are they? everyone's hair texture is different, so i can't really tell you if that's normal or not...

  • Hi I love the style put your hair in but you said that anyone with any length could do this style...but my hair is just to my shoulders do you think that I can do it?

  • if you can put your hair into a ponytail then you can do this style

  • Again I luv the style when my locs get a little longer watch out lol thank you for style #4

  • what is this song?

  • Backed vibes

Check the video description box for a link to the website to download

  • sheesh love ur dreads

  • lovely!

  • chesca! i love your choice of music u gotta tell me the stuff u listen to. also i have really long locs and sometimes have styling challenges, thank u so much and thanx to suzanne!

  • thanks! i have a list of my favorite artists on my youtube homepage. but i love radiohead, portishead, esthero, jill scott and ben folds just to name a few

  • Love the look! Kinda wish you would have left the bang sticking out at the top with like a broach embellishment or something..cant wait till my hair is long enough!

  • thanks! i rarely do hanging bangs because they tend to get in my face. and i'm not really a broach kinda girl. but i might give it a try in the future. thanks for the suggestion!

  • Fabulous...love locs. beautiful...do you think it is only effective with the hair net?

  • i prefer how it looks with a hair net, only because i like my locks to be neatly in place. but it's up to you

  • Peace & Blessings!!! My locks are 9 years young and are past my hips!!! I love your tutorials, creativity and energy... thanks for all the wonderful ideas!! Do you have any hairstyles for longer locks???? - Thanks much -

  • wow! that's amazing! i really only do styles that work on my hair, since i'm not a professional stylist. so i don't really know of any styles for longer hair. but i'll try to do some research and see what i can come up with. thanks for your kind words, and of course thanks for watching!

  • Hi Chesca! I have a question. Where do you find the large elastics that you used in this video?

  • well i can answer dat question

u can find them a wal-mart or any beauty supplies

  • you can pretty much find them wherever hair supplies are sold. i got mine from walgreens. i have them in a million different colors. you can wear them has headbands or hairties

  • I really liked how yu did the braiding sometimes i try it on my own....ehh not so gudd! but now i have more tips like rubber bands and most likeytwisting before brading! but thank you. Yu shuld try natures shine ORGANICE root stimulator it works and try gold castor oil itz scalp food they both help very gudd

  • hii i just started to wacth some of yur videos andd they really helped out alot. im getting ready 2 go 2 ma 8th grade prom ndd i wanted some hair help nothing 2 fancy but really nice. iv'e already tried twsting all the way up and then taking them out in the morning and have them all curled up and the orginal just twisting them.

  • thanks for sharing. I am gleening so many good ideas - Love Youtube lol. cool music ;-)

  • You are absolutely gorgeous!

  • thank you!

  • This hairstyle worked all kinds of wonders for me at my prom last night! I didn't think it would work on me at first because hairstyles always seem to look better on long locks- my are 4-years-old and shoulder-length. But the Suzanne did, and I'm offically adding it into my hairstyle repertoire. Kudos, thanks so much! :D

  • oh wow! that's wonderful! i hope you had a great prom, i'm sure you looked beautiful! thanks for the feedback, i love hearing comments like this. take care!

  • This hairstyle is so elegant and sweeping. It sort of reminds me of something Lisa Ray would do with her hair. I will try it out and post a video, soon.

  • OMG! That was a great presentation. Im gonna try that this week. I have some advice for you(hope u dont get offended its said with much love:). Take a soft toothbrush and brush the hair around your edges, it helps with the tight curls and its not 2 hard on the hair. It makes your locks look alot neater, w/o damaging ur hair. Let me know what you think..

  • not offended at all, thanks for the great tip! can't wait to try it out. my roots were pretty out of control in this video, but i've always had trouble with the hair around my temples after damaging it with dye and perms in high school (i'm sure you saw my happy birthday hair video) even though my hair grew back, it's never really recovered. i'll give your tip a try and let you know how it goes. thanks again

  • I read about your hair challenge. How can I participate.?

  • I'm so glad you added this tip! My edges aren't neat right now and I didn't know what else to do other than use my husbands beard brush, lol. Thanks!

  • Anytime sis, let me know how it works for you:-)

  • ignore the stupid question about how long about hair. I saw on another of your entries. Duhhhh. Still enjoy your videos. glad you are sooo for real. thanks for being our confidant. It's so refreashing to hear someone articulate speech properly and with so much respect to others keep up the good work. really enjoy your personality. :-) :-}

  • there are no stupid questions!!! thanks so much for your kind words of support. it means a lot.

  • I've been crazy busy too and haven't visited for quite some time now. How long have you been growing your hair now? I still have my twists and am getting tired of redoing them but worried about dreading my hair at this point. still don't know if it's strong enough not to break off and I like the way my Twists look. Do you know how to have dread Twists or some one who has it , how their hair looks. Just a question. thanks:-)-- Ladyshyye

  • This is my fav video of yours Chesca. I'm sure u make it look so easy but its stunning nonetheless! Cant help but notice you're smiley at the start then look serious like u mean business during the creation of your hairstyle before a lovely smile returns to round it off - thats the way to present hairstyle vids!

Also, love your cardigan and charm necklace, can i ask where u got them from? x

  • why thank you!!

the necklace is actually my mother's birth stone, opal. i've been wearing it almost everyday for about a year now. i'm not actually wearing a cardigan, it's a dress aaaand, i'm not sure where it's from. my mom bought it for me for my birthday a few years ago. she's got great taste!

  • She sure has! I feel so embarrassed now mistaking your lovely dress for a cardigan. But doesn't make it any less a gorgeous and divine dress! Gather u were getting ready to go out as u made this vid - hope u had a good evening! x

  • ha! no worries. nope, not going out. just coming home from work. i try to clean up for the office :)

  • deionc saying "all the little BLACK girls" sounds raises

  • tres beau!!

  • I love it!...I'm going to try this on my locks soon.

  • OMG your locks are so fabulous, and your beautiful too (( :

  • I love it. Very nice.

  • yay! now, all the little black girls out there can be balletrinas too!

  • Cute!!

  • thank you for this style! I will be using it this weekend!

  • take a photo of it and enter my challenge!!!

  • Its so easy to do. Thank you.

  • you're welcome! i hope you'll consider joining my hairstyle challenge!

  • That bun is gorgeous.

  • what a simple style for the office on those days you want a tame look...thanks for posting!

  • I love this!!! I'm going to do this, this weekend!!! thanks for posting!

  • i'd love to see how it comes out! make a video or take photos if you can!

  • really nice sis thanks!

  • Thanks! This style looks great on me! I was the life of the party last night for this!! ;)

  • you're a trip :)

  • Really cute. Thanks.

  • umm, love it!

  • your hair is getting soooo long!!

  • My loc's are getting pretty long. It's past my mid-back. I think when it starts to get close to my butt, I am going to give it a good trim/cut. I love updo's, but its a chanllege getting the right balance so your heads not hurting the whole day from the weight.

  • Thank you! I do this style like once a year. I need to figure out how to place my loc's so that it's not super heavy on top of my head. I look forward to your videos... It's great to see new tricks. :-)

  • aw thank you! how long is your hair? i haven't had a problem with mine being too heavy. i really want to start wearing more updo's. every time i do people ask why i don't wear it up more often. another style is right around the corner. i'm just trying to edit it and get it up. thanks for watching. happy new year!

  • i'll get there somday with my hair. just two months along.

  • hang in there love!

  • Chescaleigh is back!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooo Hooo! I love your videos...your like my youtube kindred spirit! much love and keep making great video!

  • yaaay! i've got another tutorial on the way. i just have to edit it and put it up. thanks for all your love and support, hope you had a great holiday and have a fantastic new year!

  • I like when you wear your hair back, you reallty expose your jawline and bone structure.

I wish you would wear it back more often. WHY hide all of that beauty? :)

    -TKO

  • aw you're sweet. i dunno, i guess i just like how i look w my hair down more...but patrick says they same thing. he loves when i wear my hair up. he actually misses my short hair. it's cute

  • You r very creativity! I like that the style is cute and quick!

  • Nice tutorial, I'll probably have to wait until my locs get a little longer to try this one. Thanks for posting.

  • hmmm...I might try that. Thanks!

  • Once again, a wonderful tutorial! This is nice and formal; I'm a teacher and this will be a nice change from a simple ponytail. Thanks!

  • love your videos!

one question... what do you use to moisturize your locs? my locs tend be brittle and dry and i can't find anything that works. if anyone else has any suggestions, let me know. thanks!!

  • Thanks! I've been using pink luster oil for as long as I can remember.

  • 2003micah, try a light carrier oil with a few drops of an essential oil you like. I like sweet almond oil with lavender eo. Slather that in your locs, wet and heat up a towel. Wrap the towel around your hair, chill out until the towel cools off. Your locs should be soft & hydrated. I've only done this once but I loved the results.

Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of water. I hope this helps.

  • thanks so much Carina982! i'll definitely try that.

  • Greetings! I dont know if they sell it were u live but try Dr. Miracles healing oil, it comes in a brown box. Its 2oz and the oil has a dropper on it. It smells clean and fresh and minty. It will make ur scalp tingle. But it feels so good, you dont need plenty. i use mine in the morning b4 going to work, so when i go to bed at nite my hair has absorbed it all. Also dry hair comes from a poor diet, take a mutivitamin and drink plenty water.Try a hot oil treament and tek vitamin e pills

  • thanks! i'll look in to that. i always avoid dr. miracle products b/c i can't stand the commercials lol

  • Nice! thanks a lot!

  • goes well with your fancy outfit too;)

    And the Pearls!

    You look so smart!

  • aw thanks! i had just come from work. gotta class it up for the j-o-b hehe

  • Classy C;)Love it;)

  • gonna wear it for christmas! Maybe i will make a vid response

  • Watched it here too! Hahaha! Love you!

    Suzanne

  • love you too!!!

  • I did it! I wore this style tonight and received many compliments. Even some people who aren't so keen on the whole loc thing had something positive to say about this style. I had my daughter take a picture of it and as soon as she shows me how to upload it, (hee hee, I'm hopeless!) I'll show you. Thank you again.

  • oh wow, that's awesome!!! you're most welcome!

  • I love it, love it, love it! I will definitely do this one. Thanks for sharing.

  • Very nice, this is quick and easy. My locs are long and I do them myself, I am all out of styles that I can do myself. Thank you

  • you're most welcome!!!

  • cute! my hair's not long enough yet for one of those big buns...

  • *looking at my locs in determination!

  • Really nice! I have kinky twist and I have to try that style it's so cute.

  • you can totally rock this style!!

  • love the style girl

  • what do u have playing in the background? I kove it

  • it's a royalty free song called backed vibes. a link to the site is in the vid description

  • Oh yes i love the new style. I think i need to wait another year or so for that style because my ponytail now is alittle to short for a bun and i def don't want any weave, it just look to cheesy if you know what i mean

  • Luv your locs chescaleigh beautiful as always, thanks for the style inspirations:)
