Hey, I don't know why people here are having issues with this program. I ahev an HP laptop with Vista (bought last year), and VAC works fine for me. This was well worth the money spent. I use it for recording from my games and emulators, and even off of the WMM preview window when I don't want the color quality of my videos to be shat. I just downloaded Fraps along with Virtual Audio Cable and they work, however Virtual Audio doesn't record the in-game music, but it records al the soundeffects and voices. Does anybody know how I could fix this...?

Here is how to get stereo mix on the Realtek HD.....

Go to 'Control Panel' (Classic View) >>'Sound'

Select the 'Recording' Tab.

Right click on 'Microphone' in the window.

Tick 'Show Disabled Devices' and 'Show Disconnected Devices'

As if by magic 'Stereo Mix' now appears in the list, select it and click on 'Set Default'

Sorry. I haven't tested this on a Vista system.

I've given another solution, and that requires you to purchase a rather short cable that enables you to hook up your audio jack to your microphone jack. If you would also like to have the ability to record your own voice (via microphone) get the 1 male to 2 female audio cable.

Disable VirtualAudioCable then record with your mic normally. save this somewhere so that you can add it to your video later. A good video editor should allow you to add another audio track and have you adjust their volumes.

Mare sure your Audio Repeater's Wave out Queue is set to your default Audio output device. Only open the programs you want to record after you hit the start button in the Audio Repeater. When everything is done correctly you should be able to hear the audio as you record.

If it still doesn't work for you just buy 2 audio splitters and a male to male audio extension. Then follow the diagram at the end of the video. No need any software setting up in this method.
