  • lol at animals

  • aww so cute how it just skittered away :D

  • I'm not going to get all negative because this is definitely really cool study material. but jpelectrondotcom makes a good point. How about using those robotics to make something to help them not die off.

  • @Glickstick Perhaps they have by showing the unwashed masses just how lovely and incredible the bears really are, perhaps this program will inspire a few more people to help.

  • @jpelectrondotcom > It did more than make tv: it educated. :-)

  • I saw the complete episode of this on Discovery Channel (in the US) very interesting but rather sad...

How come we don't create a faux iceberg that is really a powered "raft" to help all the bears get where they are going? They hop on, and we drive it or via GPS it drives itself.

I'm all for technology, and using robotic cameras to see what we normally wouldn't, but how about we take the next step and use technology to actually DO SOMETHING, rather than just make TV?

  • That cub was camara shy

  • lets sneak up on the polar bears with these robots! RRRRRRRRRRR Oh no, somehow they heard us!

  • damn. another job automated.

  • The mother bear was like, "whoops! Tipped you over. Let's just set you right side up". :) So sweet!

Sure glad it stopped rolling tho, I was getting seasick! And was that David T. I heard voicing? Very cool.

  • Now she's gonna send it in to Antarctica's Funniest Home Videos.

  • Well done to the BBC and all the camera techies,

brilliant footage, great narration and the best film I've watched this Christmas!

Again well done to everyone involved in this production.

Please let me know how you transferred the video from sky hd onto your computer?

Happy New Year to all the production team, great job

  • "Alright so this is baby's first steps out of the den. Say hi baby,c'mon dont be shy."

  • ahahaaa :10

  • at 10 seconds looks like a vagina

  • Wall-E and Friends.....

    COMING SOON TO THEATERS!

  • THEY SHOULD PUT CAMS LIKE THIS TO PREVENT SEA LIONS KILLINGS IN CANADA AND IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD. THESE CAM MIGHT BE THE ANSWER SO SAVING TONS OF ANIMALS. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!

  • Snowball cam is hardly indestructable. A bear crushed it on another video. I guess they shouldn't have put their faith in plastic. Use titanium next time.

  • Blizzard cam is cutest robot I have ever seen.

  • The mom/cub moment is AWESOME! Well worth the investment!

  • I love listening to David Tennant;s voice but that bit at the end is so cute! Guess Momma Bear just wanted to preserve her baby's first outing. :)

  • I can't believe it - that's my newest nephew Gordon, my sister filmed knew what she was doing - she was filming him for me!

  • these things remind me of that wierd skiing robot thing that was on the moon in one of the old Wallace and Gromit episodes

  • is this dr who on ice

  • That's EPIC when he said "Filmed by his mother" the mother turned her cam to the bear.

  • What an ingenious idea! Plus add the sonorous voice of David Tennant and you have Polar Bear viewer heaven!

  • They couldn't have got any luckier than that

  • Great clip. Number 35 like.

  • Somewhere in California a Disney Pixar employee is feverishly scribbling down notes for the sequel to WALL-E.

  • AAAWWWWW.....there so cute :)

  • gadget-gadget...

  • I swear Tennant's done some voicing for other nature programs...something to do with shoals of fish or something? I can't find any footage of it so I could have mistaken the gorgeous Scottish voice on it for David's.

  • @hollium You heard David on "Swarm: Nature's Incredible Invasions".

  • @CarolsWild YOU ARE MY NEW BEST FRIEND :D

  • @hollium He did do narrating for the program "Great Migrations".

  • @hollium Nope, no mistaking that voice, that's David, I started watching this and was like OMD DAVID! Lol.

  • yep, that sexy voice belongs to David

  • How convenient.
