well you have to be 18 or older to work at A&F, and the managers in each individual store are just as different, if they like you and you look good to them, then they'll hire you.

i just love working there for the music, and the ppl that i work with. not all of them are conceited bitches, but i'd stay away from there since they like to gossip ;)

If anything, I must agree with you. I've been to Saks and all they want is your money. But one thing I will disagree with is that A&F isn't high-class. If anything it's low-class compared to medium class brands ie; rock and republic, nudie, diesel, GSTAR, and etc and high-end brands; giorgio armani, roberto cavalli, marc by marc jacobs and etc. You won't get served at Saks if you wear A&F. If you find A&F expensive, prepare yourself for when you go into real stores and not mall stores.

The bottom 10 list is the 10 worst stores in the company for that month. It is based on secret shopper results and volumes for that month. Crabtree was either number 5 or 6, I can't remember which. It's posted in every stockroom in the company. So, Crabtree did poorly this month.

well it's not just crabtree or A&F, it's all of the stores in the country. the US economy is spiraling downward. inflation of prices continues. the value of our dollar is almost half of the EURO's value. i'm not surprised stores like A&F aren't doing so well, they normally don't offer holiday discounts for Thanksgiving weekend, like other stores.

/shrug, Our store is keeping up with our LY sales. And what is significant about that is, a year ago we did not have a Hollister or a Kids store in our mall. So for us to keep up with our $25k a day plus Hollister banging out $30k or more and the kids doing $10k + a day, it is incredible that we are doing as well as we are. But you are right, the economy is going into a recession, no one wants to spend their money because they don't know what's going to happen.

im assuming you work at an A&F? even though i'm a devoted A&F supporter, i do have to admit that hollister is really good with their sales & prices. i even get stuff from there when i cant find anything worth getting at A&F anymore. A&F is a store that is a notch higher on the general-mall-consumer-level and when hollister is offering cheaper items, they'll go to hollister instead since hco and A&F are both of the same company with similar styles in clothing designs.

what I dont understand is why A&F, HCo or Rhuel does not go International and I dont mean Canada and the UK I mean very International! I always think if A&F has such a great power in the US markets, well in general because HCo and Rhuel are owned by A&F, they should at least expand their stores through out Europe or Latin America. there are such big demands in a lot of European countries for those type of clothing because is a luxury style and is fashionable!

I know the London store it was a good idea but the prices for the UK are just rubbish, honestly it does not equal with the dollar exchange! might as well plan a trip to the US because now is quite easy to travel there and just buy what ever. I think it should be a good idea to open stores in big cities in Latin America, A&F is been out for a while and Im not saying take over the world!

well the reason why the prices are more expensive in Europe is because there aren't many A&F stores there compared to the US. If people are willing to travel and purchase A&F merchandise at that those few locations, They aren't going to plan to lower their prices. It's all about supply & demand.

actually the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US dollar.. and the EURO is worth double than the US dollar.

this is an advantage for foreigners because it's cheaper to travel and visit the United States because they can get more in the US with their exchanged currency :P

Um, that's not because of your economy. That's because of volume. Canadian population is 1/10 of the US population so in order for expansion into canada to be worth it, Abercrombie (and other retail ops.) must necessarily jack up their prices.
