I think i figured out how he does the staff effect; when he pretend to picks up the floor laser, it shuts off. Then, two laser pointers in his glove, pointing in opposite directions turn on, creating the staff effect. In a nutshell, he is holding 2 lasers in each hand, simulating a staff made of lasers. That's what I think.
