  • A Billy Milton celebration by 85scampi here and it's great. This has an Edwardian 'Revue Song' flavour about it (if you get what I mean!).

  • That sounds just the sort of pseudonym at just that sort of time!. A bit of a 'lad' old Billy. He was much more a bigger name than I thought what with Films, Records and Theatre. Brilliant Singer!

  • In his book Milton states he was recording for ,Columbia ,Piccadilly and HMV also under a variety of pseudonyms too, though he does not list them, a pity.

  • I must hunt out my Patrick Waddington 78 on HMV,that is from 1930,as he has from memory the same upper class "eccent"-maybe him under another name.I may "google" him as Mr Waddington may indeed have been Mr Waddington!!!!

  • My goodness, is that a green piccadilly!? I've never seen one. Gold ones and red ones, but never green!

I have a feeling that is mr Leon's band accompanying Billy Milton!

  • I wondered if it was Jack Leons band too.I have never seen a red "Piccadilly" before.

  • Apologies for the very wobbly recording but my back was hurting in what ever position i was in!!This is a very "shushy" recording to use Twiddlybobbies apt description!!

  • Never heard of this orchestra but pretty good, a sweet song!

  • He was good wasn't he. I can imagine he would have been very good in Noel Coward numbers such as 'The Younger Generation' and 'Half Caste Woman'. I can't stop playing my 'Friday Find' of Billy Singing, 'Taint no Sin'. Nice Label too.
