I think Alera wants to live and enjoys life fully and his illness is just one aspect of his life. LET HIM LIVE, as long as you love him as you do. (Alera would do well if you have the wounded leg amputated, as it does not seem to be healing properly. As it is, it may never heal. It's wrapped all the time, not allowing air to help speed the healing process. Any wound needs air to heal. There's a kitty video of one cat who had both crippled rear legs removed and is getting around ok.

I'm an animal fanatic but when it comes to pulling an animal in pain back to living 70% normal... knowing that it was it's time for it to pass... that's what should hurt the most. The pour thing would rather die than to be crippled for the rest of it's life. Put yourself in it's lil body and think about that. But of course.., not everyone is entitled to someone elses opinion. But common sense is what people need to use.
Everythin lives & dies. & of course anythin fears death but life is a constant battle & battling to accept death is wat one needs to do. If u were the kitten & had the fact in ur head that you will be crippled forever, to have to rely on some1 elses strength wouldnt u rather just die instead of someone pullin u back into livin again even though ure on the break of dyin? Knowin that theres a better place for every living thing, especially innocent animals. Just throwin out a point without arguin
Killing is killing period and you have altered and against the law of nature. As a human being you should be a guardian to the unfortunate souls and as a guardian instead of life taker when we are not even a life giver.
There is no point arguing as each human being level of consciousness is different.

I can't believe ppl actually put their money to do surgery on an animal that small. Put the poor thing out of it's misery... By the time the cat dies of old age.. u'll still be paying off that debt.. geez
um my cat had the same thing with its leg and my vet said it was veryy verry painful so my vet just amputated it... and shes pervectly fine.. she still even thinks its there!!! she trys batting at me with it.. its so cute..
Though Panglin was very rude, he had a bit of a point I'm afraid. It's best to just amputate legs if they are bothering the cat so much, and cats are very good at adapting! It's like they dont even notice! It would be better if he didn't have to drag the annoying dead weight around, and would much more comfortable for him! :)
what the hell is wrong with you? how can you see a tiny little thing like Alera suffer and have nothing to say but "cut off its legs" WTF is wrong with you? have you no feelings at all?
Hey Panglin...How about I rip your head off and shove it up your ass...never mind...I'd be doing you a favor. Your head is already shoved up your ass. The best I could do is pull it out. Fucking moron.
Again you Panglin?? Your stupid comments are everywhere. And you are 44? I'll speak the language you'll understand: What the fuck did your learn in these 44 years? I tell you what! Absolutely Nothing! You just wasted your life and you'll do so until you die... Hope it will be soon so you don't have to suffer living with yourself....
Hello Thomas. Hope you are enjoying being a newly-wed. Just wanted to know how all the fur-babies are doing. Haven't seen Bobo or Papi in a while as well as Alera. Hope all is well.
man alera like bitting her self. maybe there somthing else wrong with her. i would sugest a musle durning hours when you not watching her but i dont think there are such things.
I think it has something to do with all the animals living with him. He might not be use to being around them and he starts to feel nerves or something so he bites.
Does the vet know if the biting is due to a psychological issue? Maybe a phantom pain or itch or allergy or something? Would benadryl help? I hope he gets better. I would hate to see him have to wear a cone for the rest of his life. Please give him a big hug and kiss for us.
All the things you mentioned have been considered by the vet and we don't know what is causing the biting, only that the antihistamine injections stop it.
Alera was getting an antihistamine injection every day but because his leg wound looked so good, Thomas only has to take him to the vet every second day, so Alera got his antihistamine injection every second day. MAybe he needs it every day at the moment.
Do you mean Feline Actinomycosis? I guess a test for FIV would come first but Alera's wound desn't look like your classic Actinomycosis. I'm not sure if Thomas' vet has the facilities though. When alera was first found by Thomas, he had no wounds at all.
yes, I meant Actinomycosis. I know, I have been following Thomas and his rescues since the injured yellow kitten he found almost a year ago. I was just wondering if it had been ruled out.
you still have that cat ??

it is because your consciousness towards these lower living entities is different than me.

I'd still pay off a debt, if I knew that I could keep an animal happy. Money is nothing.

I hope that stupid cat bites itself to death and they should just break its hind legs off-he can't feel them or use them anyway.
