  • I am 63 and I was a baby beat, flower child and hippie. I refer to myself as a Bohemian. A lot of us who were part of the counterculture for a few years. But we were certainly ostracized in the suburbs ( I went to Haight Ashbury and Hollywood from Orange County and was known as "the first hippie of Westminster." A lot of it had to do with the music and the art. I can post my music and opinion videos on youtube which I love. Anonymous and the Occupy Wall Street reminds me of the 60s.

  • I'm 60, and I hear a lot of "counterculture of the 60's". Thanks to excessive media coverage then and now, we're going to remember that everyone under 30 was a member of the movement. In fact, almost no one was part of any counterculture. Nearly everyone was a clone of their parents. Music changed, fashion changed, but the "counterculture" is largely a creation of fiction.

  • Good work... love it!

  • @illuminareDesign Thank you!

  • @rANDOM1NATiON The counterculture coalesced around The Beatles. They were the embodiment of the Peace and Love movement. I've had shoulder length hair since the 60's (through dozens of job interviews). I learned to play drums because I wanted to be the next Ringo Starr. Millions of guys learned to play guitar (I own a couple) because they wanted to be their favorite Beatle. The adoration of screaming adolescent girls was awesome and frightening at the same time.

  • Very nice collage of pictures. The anti-war movement was the defining feature of the 60's. Through the luck of the lottery, I skated free. Others paid the ultimate price. Johnson should have been happy to have The Great Society as his legacy and forget fightling communism.
