If you read the Qur'an, the sky is a protected canopy NOT to keep the earth from being attacked, but, to protect Allah from being spied on by Satan. Supposedly, whenever you see a shooting star, it's supposed to be a flaming missile from one of the "lamps" (planets), in the "lowest heaven/sky" (earth's atmosphere).

Do you want me to post the scriptures that talk about the sky being a "well guarded canopy" with "lamps" that will "shoot flaming missiles at the Shaytan" to keep the Shaytan from spying on Allah?
