  • well if know one can help, you will just have to ask god to heal you. if you trully believe in him, ask jesus to forgive you of your sins then he can heal you, but only if it is part of his will. heard some of your voice overs, theyre freaking awsome! cant wait to hear more of these some day.

  • I wonder if botox would help. I know that in a lot of cases of Bells Palsy it has helped. My mom couldn't talk when she got that stuff. Good luck

  • @ToriSterling A neuro suggested it, but then said no. Thanks for the good wishes.

    Tom

  • Why is this popular?

  • @charvelgtrs I think because people want to be helpful...or they're hoping I pay em all a dollar when I can speak again! ;-) Who knows. It;s surprised me in good ways.

  • @charvelgtrs why are you stupid?

  • hopefully the internet does what the internet does best. Good luck

  • @Omi25p I feel like I good write a book on all the kindness that's been given. I know there's nasty horribleness, but I feel like god/cosmos/ the great force is favoring by showing me how can really be. I grew up hearing that people would harm you. That's all bullship. the social community knows how to move mountains and change the world. AS for me My heart is changed. Yes I want my company to make money, pay employees and voice talent well and give clients a level of service that groovtastisms

  • Praying for you bud. I wish there was more i could do. Ephesians 3:20. God Bless

  • Tom, i messaged you. please read.

  • Myastinia gravis , early onset

  • @Trollylulz Dag hope not!

  • have you tried hypnosis?

  • @UnderAFullMoon Not yet, but planning on it. An instructor said she'd write me with pros in the area to visit. Thanks! Tom

  • try weed dude ive had friends with the same problem nd when they smoked they talked 110% better they did b4 they smoked

  • @superbarneyz But then I'll wipe out the Quikee Mart's Dorito's supply. ;-)

  • Another suggestion I would have would be to visit a Diplomate in Applied Kinesiology. Sometimes things can be done with cranials that can have a huge impact. You have a fascinating case, and I wish you all the luck int he world getting your diagnosis and cure!

  • this might sound intitially sort of quack-ish... but when it comes to a situation such as yours, i believe all options should be explored. If you have gone the normal medical route with no success, i would recommend going both to a chiropractic neurologist. Either Dr. Joe Ferezy in DesMoines Iowa or Dr. Ted Carrick. they are both chiropractors with an astounding amount of neurology under their belt that look at things from a both neurological as well as mechanical standpoint.

  • @lotus921v Thanks I know seeing some experts in Des Moines has been mentioned before. I'll check it! Tom

  • i feel sad.

  • @fifaworldcup2011 ME TOO....sometimes.

  • LOL. It's getting late and I edited several times after doing some reading. Scratch myelin (that's MS) and insert dopaminergic from my previous post. Seriously though, from what I've read, these disorders are most commonly cerebral, not muscular. You may have had a stroke. Oral surgery can easily result in blood clots. Were it localized nerve damage, I can't explain why it appears to affect the muscles on both sides of your face.

  • You've probably checked this out already but... My guess is that your dysarthria is caused myelination damage to your nerves, which has manifest itself locally in a manner similar to Parkinson's. Ambien is similar in some respects to L-Dopa which alleviates the symptoms. If your MD will let you, try L-dopa to see what happens. Maybe try some treatments/diet recommendations for Parkinson's. Velvet Bean? Good luck.

  • @chrismealer Velvet Bean? QUE???

  • You're such a brave and inspiring person, really. I sure hope you find some answers! I will be praying for you and sending lots of love and good thoughts your way. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

  • @flyLullaBly Awww I don't know how brave and inspiring I am. I had been on the phone with American Express card services and being treated rudely as I kept saying I CAN NOT SPEAK. After I got off the phone I was fed up about feeling trapped inside myself and thought someone, somewhere has to have an answer. I had no idea I'd find such support. Thanks for the good words. Happy Christmas to you too! Tom

  • I found a way to heal this problem. I emailed you all about your problem & a cure to hopefully fix it. I want you to do voice-overs again, and I am going to make sure you are able to do it again.

  • @MrJoeMontano Cool Joe, I'm still going through emails and trying to get them finished by this weekend. Thanks for your concern and good wishes! Tom

  • Hello Tom... My names Robert. I'm a nobody from nowhere, but I honestly sympathize with your particular situation. In late 2008, early 2009 I was forced to have all my teeth removed due to a lengthy bout with my Gale Bladder. It seems massive amounts of sulfur antibiotics do very nasty things to your dental work. Anyway, your teeth are all connected to various nerves throughout your jaw structure. Wisdom teeth even more so. I suffer from a very, very mild version of your same predicament.

  • @nardigan Hey Robert! You ARE somebody from somewhere. We all are. :-) Man I hope things improve for you and your health gets better. Know that people care. Tom

  • Some people aren't aware of how dangerous wisdom extractions can be, the nerves that are below the teeth are so sensitive to where they can become effected during extraction of the wisdom teeth.

Tom, I am not a dr, I admire the drive you have to find a cure or medical assistance to help you speak without problem. I came here to comment and tell you that I will be praying for you and sometimes the best medicine is GOD. Pray to God everyday he will get you through this faster, I promise.

  • @aMSkEes Thanks for the prayers and good wishes! Tom

  • The nerves that control the face, tongue, all those muscles run out of the skull behind the ear and right along the jaw. There's a torque involved in wisdom tooth extraction and I bet the facial nerves got damaged. I had a neck disc ruptured into my spinal cord and had terrible symptoms, numbness on one side of face from neck muscles tightened across nerves.

  • @Catweedhigh Sorry to hear that. Did things improve?

  • No a joke...but try smoking weed. Maybe it'll have the same effect?

  • @kbanh624 I'm not a resident of a state where it's legal to try out.

  • Hope everything works out for you! Praying for you sir

  • @Fareweather6013 Thank you Merry Christmas!

  • its probably caused by nerve damage,a drug effect or muscle spasms.Taking Ambien is probably relaxing your muscle so you can speak again. If it is nerve damage,it takes 2-5 years to regenerate nerves, depending on how bad it is.Taking some vitamins ,such as Vitamin B-12 "cobalamin",which can help repair damaged nerves, regenerates nerve fibers, etc.

I hope you find someone to help you out.

  • @GGCStorm Thanks I've been hearing lots of taking additional supplements. I'm taking extra D now, but with hit the B's too. Thanks! Tom

  • I just saw this from Yahoo. While I hate that "professionals" are too worried about their own reputation to just throw out some brainstorm ideas, I thought the muscle spasm idea was on par with my first theories. Ambien has mild muscle relaxant properties. Not that its ever wise to experiment with drugs, have you tried drugs meant for muscle relaxing? Robaxisil is an OTC you might try. Or maybe playing with a TENS unit?

  • @AnimosticShep I have used a TENS unit with some mild relief, but they're so CRAZY expensive to own. I've used Flexoril with little success.

  • Uh, I was thinking...although I'm not a doctor...perhaps this is something your brain was trained to do while your mouth was open and on the medication/gas/drugs. It's possible that it could be reversed through another dose of the drug, while your mouth is closed properly. This may sound like a bad idea, and probably is...but who knows. It could be some unconscious psychosomatic thing.

  • @illuminatedwater No gas. I had a xanax prior to it. That and the injected painkillers in the mouth.

  • Im am a dental assistant and currently enrolled in dental hygiene school. Sometimes during the process of extracting a wisdom tooth these nerves can be bruised or damaged. As a result, numbness of the tongue, lip, or chin may occur. There could be damage to your mandibular nerve, trigeminal nerve and/or lingual nerve. We had a patient experience a minor case of what you are going through and my Dr. prescribed this patient a steriod to clear it up. I wish you the best! Hope this helps a little.

  • @kcase0013 Thanks I'll ask about steroid tomorrow. You recall what the drug was?

  • I found this on yahoo and now I'm kind of freaked out.

My jaw clicks on the right side and I'm getting my bottom wisdom teeth removed in 2 weeks.

I think that might be worth mentioning to the oral surgeon before hand now.

  • @48bisons DEFINITELY mention that. Good luck with your extraction and smart move seeing an oral surgeon. My guy was a DDS and yanked it out...broke it out. Was awful. Good luck with yours!

    Tom

  • Wow man I'm sorry this has happened to you. I dont know anything that could help out, but I will ask around and do research. I hope you find something that helps.

  • @EliteMaggot Cool thanks!

  • Tom, have you had any other dental work? Is it possible that youve been "poisoned" by amalgam cavity fillings? I know of someone who was dealing with extreme health concerns related to her dental fillings. Once they were removed, her health improved drastically within a month or so. She was battling extreme fatigue, digestive issues, thyroid related problems, etc. Chronic toxicity related to mercury vapors is a possibility. Please look into this.

  • @phervora No don't think so. Thanks for writing.

  • OK... the ambien will work for just so long (repeated) until it too will fail. Check out a reputable Homeopath (emphasis on reputation- reputable) and he will be able to explain this to you. This is not a joke. Check it out.

  • @likecurecom Don't think you're jokin'. I know a mix of traditional and alternative therapies are the answer. Find the RIGHT combo is the thing. Thanks for writing! Tom

  • I don't know how I ended up watching this, but I have never wished I could help anyone more than I wish I could help you. Checked out your link, you're a hell of a voice talent. I'm reluctant to say you 'were' a hell of a voice talent, because YOU STILL ARE! Even with your current condition I understood everything you said. I try to imagine if my hands were numb and I couldn't play guitar... must be incredibly frustrating at times. Stay strong man. Sue the SHIT out of someone in the mean time...

  • @sononchalant That's exactly it...my musician friends and I have talked about just that. Imagine losing the ability to play. Thankfully I can still play my six chords I know and I bang the drums. I have noticed and I don't know if it's real or imagined, but it feels like I play everything a little better since this happened. Or maybe it's just the Ambien lol who knows. Thanks for the support! Tom

  • Man gratz. I hope they figure that for you.

  • @StevenAndDon I'm hopin!

  • Damn, sorry about what happened. All I can say is if this happened to me I'd want to kill the dentist or surgeon who performed the surgery. Literally... I'd want to actually kill that person.

  • It sucks for sure. I've been very angry about it, but that just tends to eat at you. I've learned that hating isn't going to do any good. I just want it fixed.

  • Wow your voice was really soothing! I can't help you, but i wish you the best in your search for help.

  • @lalomean Thanks for the good wishes!

  • This video needs to go viral so doctors across the globe can see your condition and talk about it. Hopefully you will get this fixed soon. Good luck!

  • @TnbRipper Thanks..that's my hope.

  • YAAAAAHHHHHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

  • @slayerfan666666 Yeeeeeehhhhhaaaaaaa! back atcha

  • There was just an article about wisdom tooth extraction on Yahoo today. "The most common complication - permanent nerve damage causing numbness of the tongue, lips or cheeks -- affects more than 11,000 people annually, according to a 2007 report in the American Journal of Public Health. But the surgery has also been linked to jaw and tooth fractures, brain tissue infections, life-threatening bleeding and hypoxia."

I'm so sorry I can't help more. I will be praying for you!

  • @sarah9847 Scary stuff when you really read about it. Thanks for the good thoughts Sarah

  • Hey i just watched your video and i feel bad that something you use so much and enjoy so much has been taken from you without the use of sleeping pills. I am not a doctor but i will post this video around to people to see if anybody knows somebody that can help you. Keep us updated if you find anything or anybody that can permanently help you. ~~~ Tony

  • @bonerflopsack Hey Tony-

    Thanks for posting it. Tom

  • Wow, how terrible, and certainly frightening for you, Tom... so glad to know that your speech has returned, no thanks to the doctors who couldn't figure out how to remedy the problem. I wish you all the best, keep up the good voice-work!!

  • @4piglite Thanks but no voicing yet. The Ambien is just used at night and is inconsistent. THanks for the good wishes!

    Tom

  • i have TMJ too, but have no insurance or money to fix my problem. i have 4 root canals due but no money nor insurance. i work 40 hours week just enough to get by, i am an american citizen was born an raised in new york. i pay medicare weekly but cannot use this until i get older.? what happens if i get really sick.i cant stand this countries medical system. everyone got problems. what pisses me off, is people from not of this country can use statefund medicare, and i can't, cause im the provider

  • @Spright0 I think one of the real problems we have as a country is that medical care is a business. I think since it is, priorities can get a little out of whack. Maybe one of these days we'll spend the money on finding ways of making our citizenry stronger and more productive by keeping them healthier. Good luck with you tmj and dental problems. I'm sure you can find some help somewhere. TOm

  • I saw this on on the news and well isnt the numbness do to nerve damaged from pulling your wisdom teeth i guess the older you are when going to get them removed and how deep the roots are plays a big factor in it so maybe nerve damage

  • @loveLIKEnoOTHER0810 Don't know. I think that's what's going on. Hey you callin me OLD?! ;-)

  • Thumbs up if YAHOO! News brought you here!! :))

  • you are in my prayers.

  • @OldmanMaestro Thanks Maestro!

  • I may know someone who can help you. How do I contact you?

  • @SuperMview email addy was sent

  • You could try medical massage, which does wonders for TMJ problems. The muscles in the jaw are very strong and very complex, and if they are in spasm they will pull the jaw out of alignment and impinge on the nerves. Find someone in your area who was trained at the St. John's school for neuromuscular therapy and they should be able to do very specific jaw work, as well as anterior neck work on the very deep muscles at the front of the neck. Good luck!

  • @Babsg1 Hey Babs-Thanks for the tip. I've had really good luck with interior manipulation from the people at Cornerstone Physical Therapy in Asheville. I have been looking for someone to do exactly what you're mentioning. Do you have any pros in the Asheville, NC or Orlando, FL area who perform the St. Johns methods? Thanks-Tom

  • Hi there...I think part of the reason you are having to cough so much is because your saliva travels down your throat while you're talking because you don't have as much control and sensation of your tongue. So you might try consciously swallowing your saliva more often for that. Otherwise, I'd check out UC Davis...Dr. Peter Belafsky (ENT) is pretty amazing.

  • @bzealous Well the cough is the least of it. I was getting over the flu when the video was made on Friday. I had a 100 degree temp on Tuesday and was sick most of the week. Good idea in general though. Thanks for the interest. Tom
