The second guy was better than the first because his delivery was more natural. Listen to yourselves played back. Too many people attempting v/o's try to speak lower than their voices are placed, trying to sound like someone else. It may sound right in your head, but in the reverberant field it's both obvious and unpleasant. You have to be SMOOTH, guys, and speak from your diaphrams. Project! :)
