I used to watch my cat do that to my blankets. My female now likes to walk on my shoulders and it feels good. My male does that kneading to my arms. Still feels good. I love my cats. And you have a real pretty cat too. I love calicos. My female is a gray tabby calico.
I lived with a friend of mine over ten years ago who had a 13 lb cat (literally 13 lbs) who did that to me. I loved it with the exception to her sharp nails. LOL ..
Some days it hurts more than others, sometimes she cuts deep enough to make me bleed. At least that way I know it is time to trim her nails again. Pain is all a part of the process I guess, and like all pain, after awhile you just kind of get use to it.
Yeah she does make house calls and provides this service for anyone. Which in a way kind of makes me sad, to know that she does this for anyone, and not just me, because I spoil her so. Anyway, with her claws, most people don't care for it.

Yes, the cat does indeed enjoy the kneading process for some reason. I think it is some type of instinct for her as I rather doubt she learned it as newborn/kitten. For some reason the audio is not very good as you can't hear her purring, she is always purring when she kneads my back or belly.
