  • @titanium1228 another thing to think about is this: which material is most easily repaired? Steel is easy enough to repair at home, but high end steel bikes use thin-walled tubing that's prone to work-hardening (though not like aluminum alloys). You won't repair aluminum at home because the whole frame would need to be heat treated afterwards. And good luck finding a frame builder who'd mess with it. Carbon is easy enough. Smash a hole in a tube with a rock and send it to Calfee for repair.

  • @titanium1228 It's true that carbon fiber is like any other material, it has a life expectancy. So does steel, titanium, and aluminum. Each one of these materials will eventually meet the end of its service life. That said, modern carbon frames, like this Blur XC Carbon can be expected to be at least as durable under normal riding circumstances as their aluminum counterparts. They're also stiffer and lighter -- all good things.

  • i have a question... doesnt carbon fiber frame have an expiration date?

    correct me if im wrong.

  • 29er better

    26 old technology

If your going to spend money on a bike get a 29

  • how much dose it cost? (us doller plz)

  • @LTP1996

you would probably have to sell a million cups of lemon ade on the weekends to purchase one. :)

  • @yetibiker08 ok but seiriosly about how much would one cost?

  • just got one with 2x10 XO, and a fox kashima fork!!!

  • @chazmaniac624 What is the differnce between XO and XX, is one AM, XC or downhill or is one just a better model? like when buying a Honda civic DX (lowest) Vs and Honda EX (highest/best quality)?

  • @MorrisseyOner its sort of both. XO is designed more for trail/ all mountain riding, but unless your doing some pretty gnarly AM riding, XX is going to be the overall better choice because it is the exact same technology and design as XO (and X9 and X7) but its a little lighter, and just a little less durable, but more expensive; if that makes sense. Hope I answered your question

  • @chazmaniac624 Yes it answered it thanks! I ride in Texas city, Tx(South of Houston) so most of the riding here is flat or hilly(rollercoaster), very technical, rooty, twisty, very dense woods and hard pack. Very steep climbs and descents but no more than 50-100 feet if that. So XX is a better choice for me? This will be my first full suspension(BLUR XC)

  • @MorrisseyOner unless your on a budget, and you happen to bang your drivetrain on rocks quite frequently, i would definitely go with xx (the only reason i got xo is because i got mine directly through santacruz and they dont offer an xx package)

  • 7 star for SC Blur XC carbon!

  • Boy it looks like you guys have some great trails out there! It's making me want to get out there and shred.

  • nice review. i have an aluminum one and want a carbon one, best handling bike i've every riden.

  • "I want one of these more than my next breath"

  • @BikeSwan - huge lolz...

  • I love you drew
