  • The Simpsons brought me here xD

  • For some reason sounds better than the studio recording...

  • Does anyone know if this is available on dvd? I remember this show playing back in the 80's on TV and at the time I taped it. I'd love to see it all again.

  • esta cancion del carajo lo dice todo

  • It's punk, not new wave

  • Thanks for sharing Buzzcocks Rule

  • how can you not love thiis song?:L

  • whats the difference between New Wave and Punk, never really saw this as Punk more New Wave?

  • I belong in the late 70's

  • Is It Just Me Or Does He Sound Like Someone From Monty Python Singing?

  • my heart and punk go together i am 47 going back to 77-78 nostalgic or what

  • Love Songs...nothing but Love Songs :)

  • Gibson Marauder!

  • @ckolonko It's so...it's so beautiful. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.

  • Love this version :)

  • I've just uploaded this song's lyrics!!!! please watch and rate (:

  • The record player spinning the best times I never had.. So why do my old records make me sad? Cause they're so bad. And no one seems to understand. The glory of guitar, when out of tune. The off timing.. The singers who can't sing.. The beauty of FLAW!

  • @euroyankee2003 AMEN! :)

  • ONE OF THE GREATS.....

  • 59 people have their taste in their arse.

  • HUNTINGTON BEACH CA,. still going strong!!

  • um, greenday aren't punk rock, so how could they possibly ruin punk rock for anyone? I love this first wave stuff, but I also love second wave/street punk and newer styles of punk too, from all over the world... punk isnt dead just because some bands are using the image as a marketing gimick... there's still hundreds of thousands of "kids" (aged 3- to 73+) listening to and making punk rock even if it's not the same as in grandpas' day :) And no i don;t mean greenday or any of that mall sh!t.

  • more Buzzcocks now on mylittletelly

  • ah punk american or british it well never be the same thanks to bands like green day ruining it for the world.

  • @MrHowdyhell ignorant cunt, greenday are bwilliant they just picked up some souless beings on there journey to stardom

  • billy talent made a version of this song and its way better

  • @retards0 FUCK RIGHT OFF, YOU PRETTY BOY CUNT, BILLY TALENT, MORE LIKE BILLY NO FUCKIN TALENT

  • thanks from peru

  • What's a Beiber?

  • @SuperBoursin A terrible creature that feeds on the souls of girls, it only comes out at night. you see, it captures the girls by singing hypnotic songs that only work on girls in a high pitched voice. They go into a trance, and then it sucks the souls out of them because the beibers have none.

They have a leader, his name is Justin Beiber, and he is hated by over 60% of all humans, the other 40% dont have enough will power.

    Does that answer your question?

    -Feel Free-

  • @foopieproductions123 thank you

  • And so I watch my alternative reality on the screen, where instead of Styx, Foreigner, Pink Floyd and all that other tripe I got to discover the good stuff in 1977...instead of 1984

  • @tlmajor don't you have a green day video you should be watching? @SpOnTheLine haha high five..I too am 46 and was lucky to be a part of the scene..goodtimes

  • one two three FAW

  • good!!!I love them!!

  • Looks like 58 Beiber fans accidentally came across this.

  • It makes no sense, from a musical perspective, why the Buzzcocks weren't more popular. They were far more talented than the pistols. Clearly the fact that they actually knew how to play their instruments held them back.

  • genial canción. Para los Sedados, ya pez token covewrs de The Fall, Buzzcocks

  • Remembering myself staying at new years eve at the Trafalgar square together with groups of punk listening Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers, The Jam, XTC, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and ... and showing our asses to the bobbies.

All of this was truly and 100% authentic. No fake, no show, no make-up. Just fun and really good music.

Punk is still alive .. in some hearts.

  • @pschiffmann I love these stories of the underground scene (of whatever culture) before it gets co-opted by the mainstream.

  • @pschiffmann Thanks for the memories - though can't even fathom seeing all those great groups you mentioned - true PUNK - & this audience too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good song!

  • Buzzcocks and Undertones best of pop punk

  • iheartthebuzzcocks

  • Classic. Excellent song.

  • Saw them play last night! I had a great time! At least I think I did.

  • YEAH

  • @IAMTHEDOG1 Don't watch it then

  • you cock rag !

  • No, dude. YOU SUCK! ^.~

  • They were the punk rock version of The Beatles.

    Short, Quick, powerful pop songs.

  • Early Beatles maybe, but I totally see what you mean.

  • Oh yeah! I have fallen in love with so may ones you shouldn't have LOL!

This is an awesome video and makes me feel so young, hehehe

    A big thank you RikiRude!!!

  • what kind of guitar is pete playing

  • it looks like the Fender Jazzmaster guitar but with a few custom parts..... :)

  • i think its a univox, look at the head.

kinda looks like a gretsch corvette though too.

  • yeah the head is different than the one of Jazzmaster ..thats why I said " with a few custom parts" :) cheers for the notice :)

  • If I could chose one song that sums up rock and roll. This would be it. Pure genius.

  • 'Sum up Punk' I think you'll find.

Rock and Roll was something totally different!

  • I don't think I've heard a version that tops this. I just love Pete Shelley's vocals. They're so distinguishable and unique to The Buzzcocks. Everyone who tries to cover this always tries too hard to sing it traditionally, and it always sounds like shit.

  • Just my opinion!!!

  • GTFO

  • And you suck, man! FUCK BT!!! Go home to ya fucking emo bunch and start to cry and think about bad bad things while listenung to BT or Fallout Boy!

  • man i miss the good old days of punk rock, when ugly people with bad teeth could make music and be successful. everything's so bloody superficial now, crap bands of pretty boys recycle the great riffs of yesterday and make money out of it, it disgusts me.

  • You're probably a Pogues fan from what I gathered from the part "ugly people with bad teeth."

Anyway. A great song from not so ugly people with not so bad teeth.

  • It's The Great Rock n' Roll Swindle, mate. It's always been this way and always will be. Even original punk was a bit of a rip off. People tend to forget that every era had those willing to ride others gravy train.

  • @tlmajor But punk music isn't about being successful ^.^

  • @tlmajor i agree. it was great being a teenager when punk started.

  • @tlmajor so so so fuckin true my man!

  • @tlmajor pete shelly may have had bad teeth but he was HOOTTTT

  • @tlmajor seriously

  • @tlmajor shane mgowan

  • @tlmajor Best way I've seen that put it in words. Too true. :P

  • @tlmajor I don't understand this really, they aren't really ugly.

  • @tlmajor There's still plenty of the old punk bands playing. Discharge, UK Subs, The Vibrators, they're all still running the circuit. You just need to get out and watch them before they die. Old Charlie Harper's had two heart attacks and he's still punk as fuck.

  • @tlmajor I wouldnt call bashing your instrument with as much overdrive as possible should be considered "music".

  • @tlmajor I do agree with you. But i think the singer could have been better!

  • @SpOnTheLine COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER !!!!! Iam 46 years old , I think you must be very young , go back to x factor , please .

  • @tlmajor the ramones. that's all i have to say.

  • I saw them live two months ago. Great gig.

  • I can't believe my ignorant cousin thinks this is a Stiff Dylans song! Blasphemy!!!

  • @IheartMonkeyAlex i understand! just found out that too lol

  • @IheartMonkeyAlex Smash his face with a Rickenbacker

  • @IheartMonkeyAlex so you got an ignorant cousin...I got a perfect cousin... He's called Kevin and what I like to do he doesn't. apparently he's got a sheep skin jacket me mum says it costs a packet

  • @johnnylongback LOL!!

  • @IheartMonkeyAlex couldn't agree more...

  • @IheartMonkeyAlex Bum, you just made me listen to that soppy Stiff Dylans Version. Love the Buzzcocks was privileged to see them in Oz at a couple of pub venues Mid/late '80s.

  • @IheartMonkeyAlex Stiff Dylans?

    Billy Talent?

    Anti-Flag?

Pete Yorn, Thursday, and the Buzzcocks?

GEZUS!!! HOW MANY VERSIONS OF THIS SONG ARE THERE?!?!

  • Are you married? I think you're gorgeous xx

  • I need the version made by the girl (the girl sings)

  • nouvelle vague?

  • Hurray for scrubs XD

  • lawls Cherry stop sucking so much 8======D and get some air to your brain, buzzcocks pwn Stiff Dylans like little school girls, I think your just confused with the bad audio recordings.

  • stiff dylans werent even a gleam in theyre drunken daddy's eyes when this song came out.

  • they really were fucking great!

  • muy buena la cancion!

  • maybe so, but could they write a song as good as this.

  • MAESTROS !

  • To say that "this version is best" and that kind of stuff is just stupid. Sit back and listen to the _ORIGINAL_ It is their idea, their song and they shall have all the credit for it. Not some random covers.

  • billy talent arent a REAL band

  • that's because it's easier to do a good job once you have the good idea already created...

  • ORIGINAL AND THE BEST by far

  • i actually just peed my pants at the brilliance.

  • i did the same thing on a cover of this song

  • fine i didn't. but i might as well have, Pete Shelley was a genius

  • anyone else think the buzzcocks and jilted john sound suspiciously alike???

  • hehe I love his voice =]

    awesome song! love it!

  • He's named for two of my siblings.. how cool is that?

Pete Shelley is a fitting follow up to Devoto,

His tribute to Amelie, is just incredible

  • wait what tribute to amelie??

  • so great

  • LOL..TWIT

  • Don't agree but thats a quality comment made me laugh

  • Punk at its purest!!

  • and also, the stiff dylans can suck my cock. thay sound horrible.

  • To tell you the truth, i really didnt like this version, i was more partial to thursdays. but i think this is great now, it grew on me.

  • The buzzcocks are the best. Only version of this song as far as I am concerned.

  • lets see as a marrie rock fan , who is in my collection....judas priest, husker du,buzzcocks, minuitemen, jello biafra, halobenders, pansy division give me a break

  • This is great. Raw punk at its finest

  • right!

  • Shelley sounds great here. Not sure what some of you are talking about.

Also, those of you saying that the Stiff Dylans version is better, or even comparable, don't have a clue.

    The Stiff Dylans blow.
