The reason I associate Twinkies with Americans is because of the Die Hard films (Die Hard, Die Harder and Die Hard With A Vengeance - I don't remember Twinkies being in DH4). Hot dogs are always associated with Americans...with donuts usually linked to US cops.
I love my junk food (crisps, hot dogs, hamburgers etc.), but since I'm in the UK I have never seen Twinkies (other than on US TV films/shows) nor have I heard of Ding-Dongs until now. No I'm not fat, I'm as slim as a twig :(
BTW, I can drink Coke and have done since I was 5 (I'm now 30), but any time I drink Diet Coke I always end up being sick a few minutes later :(

I don't mind hot dogs. I kinda like them.
\mmmm twinkies. Or Krispy Kreme donuts.
