of course thom would be able to sing THIS song better... its his but... cee-lo killed this song... two diff. voices special in their own otherwordly ways... and there are some songs that thom couldnt sing like cee-lo... isnt that how it should be?
has nothing to do with what the song is about, Cee-Lo just has a great voice. So does Thom. This version isn't better hands down though. I saw Gnarls at the Hollywood Bowl do this song, and then Radiohead do it a month later in the same venue, and Radiohead knows how to rock this song.
I've gotta say, I don't think I would trust a cover of this song in anybody's hands other than Gnarls Barkley's now that I've heard their cover. Although not quite at the almost intimate level of Thom Yorke's falsetto, Cee-lo's rich voice still drips with emotion. Hearing him blast these powerful lyrics is moving. I hope Radiohead pays attention to this cover. More importantly, I hope Gnarls releases this song on a live album.
I like it, but it would be sweet if he built it more... Like start with the falsetto like Thom, and then go into the full voice after a couple of lines... It would flow a little smoother though... Sick that they pull it off this tight though... I like they have the trail reverb too... Pretty sick overall! Appreciate anyone making a cover their own.
I normally hate radiohead covers but this was great!
Got me up dancing by the computer Hahaha!
Might try this with my band sometime - have to go down an octave though :P Ole' Gnarls' voice is brilliant; Thom Yorke uses a load of false etto but this guy just belts it out!
it's hard to cover Radiohead, respect to Gnarls Barkley for having a go. As saturnswirls said no one can really touch Thom Yorke's voice but still it was a mighty fine attempt.

I gave this video only one star because Cee-Lo's voice is clipping so badly that it's a pain in the ears

if not for the sick outro on the studio versoin gnarls' cover is way better hands down. cee-lo's voice could knock over a building...

It appears his voice can knock over a building because its way too loud in this video and clipping like a motherfucker

ceelo rocked my world with goodie mob's first two albums and on the first three outkast albums...
his later work does not justify him as a great performer it just displays his utter versatility as a singer...
this is an absolutely sick cover and the only thing that makes the original better imho is the sick intro

I wish. Unfortunately for him he was smoking and thats a cigarette. You can see it in his fingers right before he looks at it and smashes it. :(

I can sincerely say that is one of the best covers of all time, up their with Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower" and Cash's "Hurt".
