I am 23 and have absolutely no problems with my hormone levels and I get about 10 thick black hairs over my chin that I have to pluck out. I also have to wax the sides of my face because I get fine but dark hairs grow there and my upper lip is really bad. The doctors have done blood tests and don't know why it is. My menstrual cycle seems to make it worse. I find that whenever new hairs do appear I am near my period or ovulating. It's very odd.
You say not to use a tweezer, but an epilator is basically an electric tweezer.
Also, shaving does NOT make it grow back thicker, that's a myth. All it does is blunt cut the hairs so that they "feel" thicker, whereas removing hair by the root leaves the new growth with a softer tapered end. But shaving does not affect growth rate.
I think as we age we're all dealing with a little unwanted hair, even the men folk, but I commend you for addressing it. My facial hair is really light, but it's not attractive when I put makeup on. I think an epilator might be just the perfect tool to pluck out the ones that are difficult to see.
Thanks for doing this video. I suffer with facial hair on my chin due to polycystic ovary syndrome. I wax at home. Fortunately I have fair hair but it's still an embarrassment and I hate having it.
Thank you for this video. I'm going to try my epilator. I tweeze constantly - such a pain!

Hi Amanda, I have a underactive thyroid and do get hairs on my top lip, could the thyroid make them worse? Does the epilator make you face red?
